    Hello,
Never seen it working son far, even when the water fans are working ... So
    1) is the Oil cooler fan triggered with water radiador fans? (Or it's independent)
    2) is there a easy way to test it? Eg If it's based on Oil temp, to disconnect the sensor and put some resistor to simulate hight temp and trigger the Oil fan.

    Thanks !

Looking at the drawing the temp switch is on the side of the rad, midway between the 2 oil pipes, it will be either short together or pull one wire off to get fan to cut in

Mine kicks in, when Oil is somewhere around 90°C. It's pretty loud actually and I was wondering if it's something one could overhaul and make better?

Grab hold of the fan and see if its tight or the bearings are rough when you turn by hand. Any lift in the motor shaft ?

Yes i just read other threads, it's triggered by a Oil Thermo switch in the Oil radiador , it's just short these and the fan must go on.... Will do that and take some pictures, thanks !!

Only way to test thermal switch is to remove and put in hot water with a multi meter connected, to see if it switches over

are you sure is not over 100C the oil thermo switch switching point? I read something like 117, at that point water is on the air :)

Not sure what temp it works at, the new switch is available @£117 ea. i was thinking it was under 100
If you could find out set temp, it would be a standard part for a german car maybe
