Hi, I have been thinking of getting a four seater for the whole family can enjoy. We like the soft tops so it kind of narrows it to a Mondial. The question I have is that I am 6'2" tall, and was wondering if anyone else that tall has a Mondial and can tell me if they can comfortably fit in the car to drive and still stick an 8 year old behind them?

Last year, me and two of my friends went to a redwine tasting evening 30 miles aways from my place, one is 5'10'' and the other is around 6'1'', and we had to bring a lot of stuff consisting of wine bottles, food, special tasting glasses and decanters ... I choose the Mondial!!!

It was just so funnier and althought it was somewhat tricky for the backseat passenger, my friends told me that they are looking forward to do it again!

Hope it will help you make your decision!

    Cheers!

    Hi Chris,
Three years ago I decided to buy an 80's Ferrari, My first choice was a 328 GTS, I car that I really love. But I have 2 sons: one is now 10 and the other one is 2 and half, so I preferred to buy a Mondial cabriolet, that I can use with all the family.
Now I own a '90 t cabriolet. I am just half inch smaller than you (6'2" are 188 cm and I am 187 cm. And I weight 90 kilos), and all my family easily gets in our Mondial: me at the wheel, my wife by my side, our small son behind her in a child safety seats (it fits!!!) and my older son behind me. And in the boot there is enough space for a baby trolley.
The only thing is that my older son has a very narrow space for his legs (but anyway it is enough also for trips of several hundreds kilometres) and that when he is behind me I have to sit a little closer to the wheel than usual (but this does not spoil the driving pleasure at all).
So, the point is what do you mean for "comfortably" fit. I think that a Mondial is not comfortable for any height, but it is VERY VERY enjoyable to drive for a guys as tall as we are, even with the family.
    Bye
    Roberto

Thanks for the great input, it sound like a winner and saves me from trying to find a local one for sale to try on. All are other cool cars are two seat and me and my daughter drive them often, but now the wife will be able to come along. Now I just need to decide "t" or 3.2

    You are welcome!

As for deciding between 3,2 or T, now you will have a very nice problem and you must try both of them. Anyways, we will be more than happy to help you, maybe confuse you because we will tell you that we made the best choice.

For example I will tell you to buy a T and Davebdave will go for a 3,2 !!! ;op

    3.2? What's that? :D

    I have driven our t with a 6'0 adult behind me. 'felt like I was driving a 308. :)
Seriously, they don't call the Mondial the Family Man's Ferrari for nothing.

I think I can top you guys. I am 5'11, I took my friend who is 6'6 and his son who is 5'8 out for a day of driving. We drove over 100 miles that day and it was all smiles. The car is quite spacious for what it is, not a day goes by that I am not happy with my decision to buy the Mondial.

1988 cab has plenty of room in the front for pretty much any size person. The back in the cab looks roomy enough, but there is a reinforcing beam under the front seat which limits the rear passengers ability to put their feet under the front seat and hence not much practical leg room. Maybe this reinforcement is only on my 1988 model (also Swiss, maybe this made a difference?). When I ordered some floor mats some years ago, including rears, the rears were patterned to extend under the front seat, which would not apply to my car. Anyway, might be something sepcific to check depending on which year/country cab you might end up with...

I'm 6'1" with a 9yo. She's been in the back for short and long (couple of hundred mile) trips. I, too, have the seat mount bar mentioned by moysiuan in an earlier post. It does block the space under the front seats, but we've carried 4 people easily. With a 6'4" father-in-law in a pushed-all-the-way-back passenger seat, my 5'8" wife sat behind him for a 100 mile run.
I don't ever drive with my seat all the way back. I find it more comfortable to have it a couple of stops forward, leaving decent room behind the driver seat, too.

I bought a Mondial QV about a decade ago for EXACTLY the same reasons. What I learned is that my plan was flawed from the starting assumption. The kids didn't want to go play in a Ferrari. I sold the car within a year. Last November I bought that same car back! I now have it and my 308GTB. Crazy old world. -rick

Congrats on both! My boys love riding in the 308. Of course, if I had a Mondial or GT4 and they could ride together I almost sure they wouldn't want to do it either.
