While poking around this evening, I had to get into the backseat for a rare moment.

I noticed that there are male Tenax fasteners low on the door jamb. See attached photo, I'm pointing at one while holding the seatbelt out of the way. Are these for the tonneau cover? Mine doesn't have the female connectors there, although I've assumed it is the original. I have all of the service records except for the first owner, there is no indication that the cover has been replaced, and I don't think the first owner had it long enough to warrant that.

Does anyone have a cover with snaps there? That seems like a logical place for them, and I've got some spare female ends I cold put there. Any observations are appreciated, as it's getting toward top down time...

    Thanks,

    Peter

You clip the male end of the seat belt there in order to free up the back seat - so it's flat. It also keeps the seat from fading unevenly around the seat belt.

At least that's my observation. I have a couple of spare clips with the little horse that serve that purpose.

Thanks for the response. Do you have photos of how you hook it? I looked at that when I got home from work. No tenax clips on the belt made for putting it there. I can hook the male end up there through the tang of the male end, but I doubt it would stay if I drove anywhere.

Does anyone know the part number for a 1988 mondial cab for the black plastic ring that surrounds the door latch peg in the picture in this thread?

I haven't been able to respond with a photo of my set up, but the spare clips that are used to secure the boot cover are what I use. I don't have a part number yet, but I ordered them from Maranello Auto Parts I think.

From this I take it that you added the clips yourself? Are they through the webbing just below the buckle? I always leave my belts connected across the seats, which is probably fine. Really, it just bugs me to have the clips there that I don't know what they're for. In the owner's manual, page 100, the upper drawing seems to show the belts stowed just as you describe, but I don't see any mention elsewhere of doing that. If you ever get around to posting a photo, I'm very curious. I just replaced all the clips for the toneau cover, but haven't gone out with the top down to see if there is less flapping from it. Thanks again for the response.

As for the part number, I wonder if it could be figured out by looking through the online part guides on the Eurospares website. Look at this: http://www.eurospares.co.uk/partTable.asp?M=1&Mo=666&A=2&B=39146&S= I think it is part 46, which if you click on it, generates a part number 60775900. That doesn't look like a Ferrari number, but hey, it's available and pretty cheap.
