If you have your old one, there's a place in Berwyn, IL that could make you a new one from the pattern. It's called "Ogden Top & Trim" and they are the preferred interior, top, & trim shop for Continental Autosports in Hinsdale, IL. They sourced some very similar to original (not available anymore) vinyl trim for my '86 Mondial and I was very happy with the work they did. Otherwise, there always seems to be somebody selling one of the leather ones on E-Bay - buyer beware. Good luck.

My boot is the original one and is still in very good shape. Except for one of the snap clips does not work any more. Can one be replaced? Where can I order the clip? I don't mind if it does not have the Ferrari cavalino on it.

It looks like Ricambi has these, but they're in chrome now instead of the original black plastic with the Cavallino. See part number 60727200 or part #35 in the "Mondial 3.2: Table 131 - TOP - CABRIOLET" parts diagram on their web site. It looks like you might be able to take the black plastic cover off your old one and somehow install it on the new chrome part. I'd ask Ricambi if that's possible. Good luck!

The fastener is called a TENAX fastener, and I think the best source is a place called "Eagle Day" http://www.eagleday.com/tefage.html I think this is the correct type, there is also an English one they sell. I think the Ferrari has the GHE on it, though, do verify.

The black plastic caps just pop off and press onto the new fastener.

Crome is the one to get. There are two parts: Male and Female. You probably only want the Female part, as the male is screwed into the body and not a typical replacement.

The Black, with Cavallino is a different item. They, on mine at least, are used to hold the seatbelts away from the seat, in the rear: They are not for the tops.

There are several sources for the TENAX, but, listed above are good to go.

I used the black Tenax fastenters with the horses on my boot. Got some replacements from Ferrari of SF. I think that they were $15 each, but that was back in 2001.

Rik, I have 14 of Black ones with the Cavallino on them 10 on the boot alone, 2 for the seat belts and, 2 to hold the seats in place. Maybe Ferrari decide to cut down on them on the T,and 348 or the prior owner's sold them to pay for the 30k service. lol

Ricambi I just bought 2 last month seemed to get legs and walk away while parked one evening out. Someone took a nice souvenir home. It had the Cavalino horse on them and I have bought a few others in the past from them as well replacing the worn out ones. On the Boot There are options I purchased a canvas one fairly cheap that has served me very well off e-bay for about $150 but you can get a color matched leather one for $350 to $450 depending on the seller. good luck

Turns out that Rich and Famous makes top boots for 84 and newer. But..., my Oct 83 is the same as an 84. So I'm set. Thank you all, for the advice, and I guess we all now know more about Tenax fasteners too.
