Hi, does anyone know if a mondial exhaust fits to a 328 ?? Exactly this one: Ferrari 308 GTS GTB QV Mondial Auspuff original Abgasanlage Sport | eBay thank you for ur feedback! Axel
Axel, The exhaust you posted the link to is the ANSA 308QV/Mondial QV "Euro" exhaust. It was standard fitting for Euro/UK/Australia 308 QV/Mondial QV models...... The same exhaust was used on Euro(Non Catalyst)and UK 328's I believe, although the part # (129407) is different for the 328 from the 308QV/Mondial QV(118353)... However ,notice you are in Germany and the 328 exhaust for German cars has part #118774....I'm not 100% sure on differences for the German delivery cars??? Kim
According to Dirk-Michael Konradt book, "Autos, die Geschichte machten: die Ferrari 308 und 328", and with all reserves included as I didn't find this information anywhere else, german-market 328s has a different sound-muffling inside the muffler, to make a bit less noise. Furthermore, when looking at some german 328, for instance the yellow one (a late model 1989) that is pictured in said book, you can notice that the exhaust pipes are different from the other european 328: at their end, on these german cars, the pipes are cutted vertically, at a full right angle from the tube (i.e, 90°); whereas on other european cars, the cut is inclined... My own 1989 328 GTS, which is a german-market car, had such an exhaust for quite some time, seen on pictures of the car taken by its previous owner. Then, sometime in its life, she acquired a standard one, that she still has today. So I am inclined to think that indeed the exhaust was different, on some german 328 at least. Another small mistery that I have been trying to solve for some years... Rgds.
Nerofer, This would explain the different part# for German market 328's! But to go back to the OP's original question,I still think the Euro 308QV/Mondial QV and 328 Euro/UK exhaust are interchangeable despite the differing part #..... They look identical in both models original parts manuals I have too!!! Kim
Kim, I'll try to find some pictures to post here about the difference on the exhaust pipes on german cars. Note that I am staying cautious on this, as Dirk-Michael Konradt's book is the only source I have that state explicitly that there is a difference in the german-market exhausts, and rest of Europe... I tend to agree with you on the interchangeability of the part between Euros Mondial, QVs and 328s...
Nerofer All these exhausts were made by ANSA!!! I have an ANSA Marmitte catalogue for all Ferrari models up to 308/Mondial QV...i've just checked it and the Euro QV 308/Mondial QV exhaust is identical........Ferrari part # for both is 118353...curously though the ANSA part # for the Euro 308 QV is FE-32220 and for the Mondial QV it is FE-3520! Having said that I have examined and seen many 328's here in Australia that are ex-UK cars and their exhaust is identical to my own 1984 308 QV that was delivered new here in Australia with the Euro 308 QV/Mondial exhaust so I'm 99.9% sure the Euro QV exhaust for both 308/Mondial and the Euro 328 exhaust(except Germany)are identical despite the different Ferrari part #!!!! Kim
Kim, That would not be the first time that different parts with different numbers are identical. But sometimes they seem identical, but are not. I have in mind a friend who said that he had compared the Mondial 3,2 bulged wheels (in inches) with the "series 2" 328 bulged wheels. According to him, the front wheels, despite having different parts numbers, are absolutely identical, even in "ET" (EinpressTiefe) or Offset in English. But not the rears; they seem to be at first look, but the offset is indeed different. And they have different numbers. It is less a problem for an exhaust... Rgds
Do you have the different part numbers for the 328 1988 1/2 VS the 3.2 Mondial non metric 16 inch convex wheels? I would like to see if your numbers match up to what i have on record. Thanks.
Happy to oblige: 328 rims: Front: 137079 (offset, or ET - EinpressTiefe- = 38mm) Rear: 130905 (offset / ET: = 63,5 mm) Mondial 3,2 rims for tyres in inches: Front: 126971 (offset / ET = 38mm) Rear: 126949 (offset / ET = 51mm) The fact that the two cars do indeed have the same wheels in front (NOT in rear) is not surprising considering they have the same front suspension (triangles are interchangeable between the two) Rgds
