Hello Friends, I own an '83 Mondial QV and while all of the electrical systems 'work', they don't work well. In fact, the turn signals are dim and other components sometimes show the signs of reduced voltage caused by resistive contacts in the fuse/relay panel - and elsewhere on the Mondial 'grid'. Sound familiar? Yesterday, a friend sent me a used and damaged Mondial panel. Earlier I had sent him my spare (working) panel so he could get his car back on the road. The quest now is to get the old, damaged panel repaired and upgraded. I spoke with Birdman about this process because I didn't want to step on his toes. He has decided NOT to address the Mondial's panel as it is complex and the revision is not economically viable for him. I want to undertake the project because it is hard - and potentially fun. So, I ask the experts, (1) Are the fuse/relay panels the same between the Mondial 8 and the Mondial QV? And Standard Specification versus U.S. Spec? I have only the QV schematic so I don't know if the others are noticeably different. (2) I plan to reuse the same plastic frame as is stock but repair the circuit board and replace the fuse holders with blade-type fuse holders. (3) The last step is to decide if the harness connectors are a major source of the resistive contacts, resulting from corrosion. If so, the change is a much bigger quest. I guess Molex connectors would be the better design but that change would require changes to the harness wiring. Should this be the case, I'll put pig-tails on the board terminated with Molex connectors - then do the same to my car's harness. -rick
Good day Rick, You may wish to check with GT Car Parts in Arizona, as I believe that they have already done this (replacement Mondial Fuse/Relay Panels). I remember seeing a few threads on this and so you may wish to do a thread search to ensure what I am saying is correct. Cheers, Sam
