Mondial headrest upgrade

For the continued light entertainment of my fellow Mondial owners, another pet peeve (American slang for personal annoyance) of mine is with the Mondial seats, particularly the headrest. For a tall person requiring some seat back rake, the stock headrest is totally useless and almost dangerous.

I have the good fortune of living near a seat manufacturer who has graciously agreed to make some drop in replacement headrests that are taller and are angled to where they actually provide a useful headrest. You can see the headrest angle in the photos. They are about twice or more as tall as the stock headrest, and with the lengthened and angled posts they provide a taller (or average, actually) person a more comfortable and useable headrest.

Here are the prototype development frames and foam fitting. They will be covered in matching leather with the same stitching pattern, and simply slide in replace the original without modification.

More later as they are covered. So far it has been surprisingly inexpensive.
