Half way home from purchasing wades car. Everything going well. Car is spectacular. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats to Wade and Dennis both! Wade obviously took great care of her. Nice trip to bring her home Dennis.
They look incredible in person! Ride really nice too. BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/mondial/469519-new-tires-vintage-look.html
Greg, if your asking me, they're Michelin Pilot Sports. 225x55x16. I took my tire with a drywall screw in it (lots of construction in the house) to Sears. And they refused to patch it. Something about not passing inspection blah blah blah and Sears is no longer allowed to patch Z rated tires. I rolled my eyes, grabed a plug kit, and went home and plugged my own tire. Took it for a spin and all is well in the world. I'm just not replacing a tire that only has 7k miles on it just because it has a pony on the rim and a tiny screw in the tread.
So what's this nonsense they can't patch tires anymore?!? Here in the south, Sears has let me down more than not. In the North, Sears was the go to place.
Btw, are you feeling relived that the Mondial is gone or are you sad? Now more time with the 348 without guilt?
Yes Ted, I'll check them out. I'm still on the fence re getting new tires as the previous owner has replaced mine but not sure when, probably 10-15yrs ago although they've got 95% of the tread left... Cheers, Greg
New lift for the garage. Loving it so far! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How tall is your ceiling and did you have to change the door opener to one of those close to the ceiling types?
Wow! That's really cool. A 928 AND a Mondial - The "Weird Science" collection! Oh, and the lift looks great. 2cam Image Unavailable, Please Login
Their legal and marketing/sales departments are in cahoots i.e. they want you to buy a full set of tires and are leveraging the specs in their favor. Tire Tech Information - Flat Tire Repairs' Effect on Speed Rating Mixed feelings for sure; the romanticist wanted to keep both but reality overruled. Since completing the house, post-flood, I was on a roll with the Mondial on the Road to Restoration. The 348 only needs some a/c work right now (as did the Mondial) but with the FL summer weather approaching quickly I need to resolve that soon. My dilemma, paying someone to "just fix it" leaves me feeling like I missed out (DIY instead).
My ceiling is exactly 10 feet. I had to have the door company add track to make that door a "high lift", and then I installed the jack shaft opener myself. It was about $300 for the opener and easier to install than a conventional overhead one. The total conversion cost me about $600 (door and opener).
Thats exactly what I want to do to my 2 car garage. Can you please point me in the right direction for this setup: what lift brand? what jack shaft opener brand garage door company to do high lift? thanks, Mike
