From the looks of it so did she Mike!
Whoever put the Mondi top down did not follow the recommended instructions...
Do we know who owns that QV now?
    Cheers,
    Greg

Valenzo looks very happy (pampered) in that shot. I almost see a comfortable (as in relieved) smile in that posture. V and the L family is deserving of it all, without reservation !!!

    Love ya .........

Certain elements, positioned in certain ways, will alter the end visual perception.

I personally, have never been a fan of 360 "starfish wheels" as mounted on Mondials (regardless of year or model).

All of a sudden, I see a body monocolor approach to a 3.0 QV, fitted with "Starfish" wheels, and I'm smitten !!!!

I looked deep into why I was affected - - I have my answer - - your final perception may be different. The full color body treatment did in fact, shorten and fatten the "overall body length" perception. It became more modern ...... (closer to two seats - than four seats).

I find it interesting, how we all perceive visuals, differently - - and honestly, we can be pretty rigid about that stuff as well. But I must say that I do like what I see here - - but that's just me. Whatever you think, is OK too :).

    Cheers

    Hank

    Wow ! That's a verbal slander.

Pardon me, but if I think about, how difficult it was to design a 4-seater, midengined Cabrio, that looks NOT like a cup of candy. The 360 was only a 2-seater Coupè, derived from the 355, a little bit more hour-glass figure, but what else ?

The Mondial Cabrio is unique ! It's comparable to no other vehicle.

    Just my 2 ct.

    (You see, I don't like the 360 ;-) )

    Since this is your thread...
The '88 SL is a mini tank. Very solid, typical German engineering and design of Bruno Sacco. A lot of power through the bands, great cruising demeanor and very reliable. Mine is a car lover's one owner, that died before he could really use it. 60k miles and spiffy. Unlike the Mondial, has no little quirks other than a drivers seat that likes to rise up on its own.

BE U T FUL cars indeed Ted. Both of them!
So what I'm thinking it could be for the ghost seat, is the memory setting, Mercs tend to have that on the side with position 1, 2. To set, press mem, then #1, should hold it per your pref.

    Cheers

Not in the 80's, hell, they just got away from the window crank in the early eighties :) dem Germans didnt like touchy feely electronics

this is a manual tilt control that acts like a jack. In my case, when no pressure is there to hold it down, it lets the seats up, slowly. The pic is not of my interior, mines nicer ;)
