The a/c evaporator sensor on my Mondial QV is faulty; reading 12°C too high.
So the a/c computer doesn't cut the compressor before the evaporator freezes.
The high pressure switch cuts the compressor when the pressure builds up due to evaporator freeze.
This puts high strain on the compressor belt and eventually makes it slip at first, then melt.

The sensor mounts vertically from the top, and is (theoretically accordign to the book) accessible via the external air intake below the passenger side cowl grill:

In reality, the the cable disappears into the injection moulded piece HVAC housing. looking more like this:

Has anyone ever replaced that sensor? If so, how? (without taking ou the IP)
Or is there another fix for that sensor?
    Thank you for advice!

    Hi, to replace it,
First you have to remove the windshield wipers and the black grills under your windshield. So you will see a metal box that conveys the air, remove it too, and ou will find the sensor.

Here a photo of the evaporator sensor cable disappearing into the HVAC unit, taken via the external air intake after removing the black grill and splashwater protection in front of the windshield. No way of getting to the actual sensor... Any fix known? e.g. mounting the sensor from a different position? Thanks for advice!
