I'm looking for a set of damaged bumper covers for a Mondial QV.
I want to use them as a model for a mold to make Carbon Fiber versions to convert my early Mondial 8 rubber bumpers to the later style. some damage is okay but not destroyed just enough to make them of little value to a current Mondial owner. This means of course that some poor Mondial owner has had an accident, a horrible scenario. Any one recommend a body shop that might have them as take offs from an accident?

    +1.

I am currently fitting 348 bumpers but 3.2 bumpers (if you can find any) are the best.

Even if you replace the outer section you still have a very heavy steel liner inside unless you are doing away with that.

    Joey,
Thanks for offer , I will consider it. I have a couple irons in the fire at the moment and if they don't pan out I'll get back to you?

    RSF,
Not having inspected one off vehicle, I was wondering about that? Is the steel reinforcement attached to shock absorbers or just metal brackets or tube structure? .Do you know if the fiberglass is just a cover since,my original Mondial 8 was rubber over fiberglass over steel reinforcement all encased as single unit, not separable.
Curious as to how much fettling is require to make 348 bumpers work? Anyone got any pictures showing any details?
    Ross

On the square tube part of the chassis there are two brackets that come out and go to an angle (one has the towing hook welded to it). there are two bolts each side of the centre of the bumper to remove it. as I'm not subscribed at the mo I can't post anymore pics, but if you pm me your email address I can take some on monday.

The front bumper isn't too difficult as its really a case of fabricating a pair of the above brackets to suit. although the corners of the wings are squarer compared to the more rounded 348 bumper lines, but I should be able to get around that. The front bumper lights are like rocking horse poo so I if you did get a pair of bumpers then make sure you get the lights first as these can fetch a premium.
The rear is a lot harder as its the same width but the length from the back to the wheel arch isn't as long so a piece fabricated in grp each side is neccessary. I'm waiting for someone to come back to me with a price for a s/h Mondial 3.2 bumper as this would make life a lot easier.
