    My new to me 83 Mondial QV coupe has the hood and engine cover vents painted black. I'm not crazy about the look and want to paint them body color. I don't know if the grill under vent should also be body color or black?

    Pics of your hood/radiator vent and engine cover vent would be appreciated.

    My hood is completly body color...engine cover vents also. Grill under vent is black.

    Same for my 85 QV Coupe. All louvers are body color.

    Like your car is 1983 QV, it could be that its a transition between mondial 8 and QV....some models mondial 8 did have black louvers ! And as we all know, there is a lot of mishmash between 8 and QV. Depending what whas on the shelf that moment of production.

    My early 1983 QV has body coloured louvres. The chassis number is 45157 so if yours is later than that they should be body coloured. In fact I think all QVs had body coloured louvres.

    83 QV vents (front and back) should be body colour. Grill underneath is black. Possible it was a transitional thing but seems unlikely. What's the serial number of the car? Do you know it's history? Was it ever repainted?

    The grill and injection shield below the slats of the engine cover are mat black.
    The air deviation panel below the front bonnet slats is mat black too.
