Hello all. Cars been standing for 6 months started it last week. Rev's get over 5000, oil starts coming out of the dipstick pipe all over the cambelts. Engine sounds fine, oil pressure looks ok. Anyone got any ideas. Thank in advance Kev.

I know some locations make some long-term inactivity unavoidable, but this is a good example IMO of why it's not healthy for an Otto cycle engine to sit for 6 months unused. Three possibilities come to mind:

    1. You have a blockage in the crankcase breather system. When warm-running you should get some oil vapors coming out of hose "B" and (maybe) the small unlabeled one where they connect to the air intake system. If you get nothing, you've got a blockage somewhere (see Section 3 of your OM for the text that goes with the figure).

If you have copious amounts of crankcase airflow coming out of hose "B" (at say 3K RPM warm and when disconnected from the air intake system):

    2. You have a stuck ring and the resulting blowby is enough to overwhelm the (properly working) crankcase venting system. Perhaps with some more driving, and maybe using a speciality lube product for stuck rings, things will improve; otherwise,

    3. You have a damaged cylinder and/or ring and the resulting blowby is enough to overwhelm the (properly working) crankcase venting system (we'll hope this is not the case ;)).
