Can anyone tell me from front to back, the order by colour of the red, white and black connector plus that fit into the side of the warning light console box.

I lifted mine out when some lights came on that did not correspond with the poblem and found that the wires seems illogical with the set from the front connected to the rear and vice versa.

    Any insight appreciated.

How does that warning console come out of the center console? I tried lifting it out gingerly with a screwdriver, and it didn't budge. Obviously, I don't want to damage it, so please advise me on how it comes out of the console. Thanks.

So it just pulls straight out the top of the console (no screws, etc. holding it in)?

Yes it should do, I can't remember if I had actually taken the centre console out and pushed it from the bottom or if I had just pulled it out from the top, either way I remember it being pretty easy.

If I remember rightly when I had removed the radio I slipped my hand under and pushed it out (see pic)

    Rival,

Be sure that you take off the wire connectors,,, before, you just lift out the warning unit. Spring clips are cool.

BUT, you will break the unit into a pice of seeet if you DON'T DISCONNECT the clips first. (I see you have complied with
Guido's plan,,,,, but I just wanted to make this clear to all others with 308s.)

(This is how they all get broken.) (wink)

I don't understand. I just want to lift it out to check bulbs. How can I disconnect the wire connectors before I lift it out?......By the way, this may be all I need to know: when I turn on the headlamps, should anything (background, etc.) light up or should this warning center be completely dark unless it is giving a status / warning?

The only way you could disconnect the plugs first is by removing the whole console which is a bugger, there is enough slack in the wiring to pull the warning panel out as the wiring loom comes from the front under the dash and goes past that switch panel to the aircon buttons & window buttons etc..., you can roughly see in the pics I posted

At the moment all mine light up. I mean the display not the LED's (apart from one). However mine says it is due a service. When the service light is extinguished (after it has been reset by dealer/specialist etc) then I think just the top half of the warning display lights up. Not sure why or if it is normal. Hope this helps a bit

I never removed the whole console to dissconnect the warning unit. ,,,,, just the Shift Plate, the Ashtray and the cigarette lighter.

Then you can lift up the side of the console cover and reach under to dissconnect the warning unit. This also gives you access to all of the fiber optic connectors. Check them out now and replace the broken ones.
