Ok. I have searched the forum but havent found answers to my questions regarding fender badging. I'm hoping someone will clearly explain the pros & cons of putting a fender badge on a Mondial T. Would it de-value the car in any way? resin vs metal? show rules? etc...

    Whaddaya think?

Not original on that car - they were reserved for competition models back then (or special models like the F40, F50 and more recently the Enzo).

Yes, you would lose a point at an FCA show, IIRC.

It would devalue the car in some people's eyes. I think competition shields look a bit weird on four-seat Ferraris.

But ultimately the whole point of the car is make yourself happy.

I like fender badges(shields) on some cars, but I'm going to have to say no to the Mondial being one of them. Save your money. I've seen one or two with them on and it did look a bit tacky on the Mondial.

My Mondial t cab had the really nice metal cloisonnes badges when I bought it and the first thing I did was to take them off. They are now refrigerator hardware in a Ferrari shop's waiting area. They look pretty good there. Unless they are factory installed with the indentations, they don't ever look "right." Spend your money on billet foot rest and pedals or new tires. Just my two cents though.

Personally I like the shields on Mondials, and most all other models as well. But that is just my personal preference and what looks good to my eye. If you like the way they look, put them on....to hell with what everybody else thinks. If you don't like them, don't. Bottom line is it's your car either way, and time spent worrying if others approve of it is time not spent enjoying it!

I suppose a good "in between" option is to buy the magnetic shields, and take them on and off as the mood strikes you!

    Thanx,

That clears some things up. I'm trying to keep Sera as original as reasonably possible. Although I love all the options, I want to keep her as she was sold by Ferrari. (with the exception of 18 yo tires) I didn't think badges were an option on Mondial Ts at that time.

I got them and they look good.

I also did a pole on this, and its a 50/50 split.

    Do what your heart desires.

Speaking of badges, I was thinking of going the magnetic route at first. I want to make sure I like them, and also to be able to quickly take them off if the concours originality nazis start throwing things at my car. :)

Problem is, I can't find any magnetic ones for sale. I did a google search and found the Yoshi ones, but no magnets. Any ideas?
