This morning was a bit cool, and put up both, front windows on the Cabriolet, turned up the heaters after proper warmup and drove the 30 miles to work.

When I got to work, I rolled down the windows in prep for the cover going on and heard a loud THUMP from my side window. Almost sounded like I might have broken the glass.

While still in the car I put up the window and saw the door lock, button, move a bit, and on the retraction heard the thump and saw the lock button depress and make a thump sound.

Reached over an 'locked/unlocked' the doors using the door inside lock switch, and tried the up/down of my window again, with same results: THUMP, and lock button is making a motion.

I am thinking, somehow, the window channel is hitting the locking mechanism.....haven't been in there, but don't know.

anyone have some sort of insight to that area.

I cannot see from the attached drawings where such a bind might happen.

    any help is appreciated.

anyone have some insight to the door lever mechanism of the Mondial T?

As of yesterday, my driver's side, exterior door handle does not do its job. Must reach in and unlock/open door via inside handle...good for me top and windows always down.

Will take door apart, but on the searches here, not finding anything.

the T has [don't know about the 348 but suspecting they do as well] have similarities in the door area.

Went into the panel, to fix a door problem. Got it ok, but noticed a couple things that I can get no details on.

    1. The outer door-key lock, has an inner portion where in my case it became undone and the innards dropped to the bottom door area. The attached, circled in red area, was a bit of an ordeal to put back together especially based on the drawing on-line and what I could print: Not enough detail to make it out.

Has anyone a better rendition of this area? I basically used a magnifying glass and took a best guess....certain it isn't entirely correct, but the door opens using the outside lever, and the window rolls up as usual = what I was after. Not worried about the locks because I don't want to remove it all again until I know what the inner portion should look like.

Bugger of an area to get into, and the spring and casing is really crude.

I've taken numerous pics, and wonder if someone has a better detail [pics or whatever] of this lock when apart.

    2. The Last two pics are the toggle to the side mirror motors. I found the inner portion piece of plastic very broken. Can't seem to find that on Ricambi's site either. The mechanism says BMW Evo, which didn't come out well in the pic, but other than construct my own inner piece does anyone know of a viable replacement part and/or number. I'll keep searching, but just wondering if anyone has found such and not yet posted --as search reveals nada. I am not replacing the entire part. I'll go to TAP plastics and construct my own, but a picture to show me what it looks like would be helpful.

BTW, just taking out that plastic and pressing back onto the toggle shaft proved no problem and the toggle works, but obviously probably keeps the shaft from too much free, movement about the spring.

PS: Taking the middle panel off the door was key, but I took off all panels just to see how it went, and turns out, for the locking mechanism, it was needed.
