Can someone please post the location of the ECU cat along with relevant information regarding the "old style" vs. new style? How do I know I am getting the new style? I think one of mine is old as one has a green face and one black. BUT, I am not sure I know where it is and/or what it looks like.

ECU cat? The t has only one ECU -- well, a pair of the same ECU. You can get at it from the rear trunk. Use a quarter to undo the plastic spinlocks at the top of the rear carpeted bulkhead. The bulkhead will rotate forward from the bottom, exposing the 2 ECU units. They are identical, each controlling half the engine.

He's talking about the two exhaust over-temperature warning light ECUs. The Mondial t SPC at www.eurospares.com indicates there are different PNs -- one "for M2.7" and a different one "not for M2.7" which I guess is Motronic 2.5. (Take a look at that SPC illustration -- it shows the shape/form of the warning light ECU which will help you identify them.)

The SPC illustration doesn't give the exact locations, but it implies that it's got to be like a 348 -- somewhere on the rear chassis framework by the rear wheels (just follow the cables from the thermocouples mounted in the cat outlets).

PS It gave me a chuckle looking at that SPC -- it has "O2 sensor" translated as "Lambda feeler" (which isn't really incorrect ;))

I just changed both of mine. The new ones have green faces (ought to be gold plated considering what they cost).

I can't seem to find anything on Eurospares.com that talks about Ferraris. It is all just motorcycle stuff.
Also, does anyone know if swapping the two ECUs will work to check if one is bad? Thanks for all the posts.

Sorry -- that should have been www.eurospares.co.uk

Yes, that's the right approach to take -- if the obviously bad behavior (e.g., not doing self-test correctly, light staying "on" at cold start-up, etc.) moves to the other bank, it's very conclusive that the ECU itself is bad.

The next step as I understand it is replacing the thermocouple. Is that the same thing as the O2 sensor? Will a non-Ferrari O2 sensor work?

No, those are not the same thing, but you posted you found trouble with the thermocouple -- right?

Now I know the O2 sensor and thermocouple are NOT the same thing - thanks to the posters here. I switched the thermocouple wires from side-to-side and the "Slow Down 1/4" light immediately switched to "Slow Down 5/8". So I think I am right in concluding that the thermocouple is bad. Regardless in the process of removing the bad thermocouple I broke it. Anyone else had this problem and did you do the Hyperflow thing and do away with the cat ECU system altogether?
