I have a Mondial t. It has been running great. Today I noticed a chattering sound (vibration) while stopped at a red light with the clutch disengaged and the car not in gear. Once I put the clutch in the sound went away. The clutch, T.O (not flywheel) was replaced less than 1k miles ago. Car has absolutely no other issue---starts fine, never stalls--no unusual problems or changes in pressure with engaging or disengaging the clutch. A couple of drops of fluid on the floor at the rear drivers side of the car is the only unusual observation. I did a search and none of the responses seem to fit, as there always seems to be other symptoms. The closest search result suggested grease leaking out of the flywheel. Could it be an exhaust issue? Any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem in my 308. The noise comes only after the car is warmed up completly. I first noticed the noise after I changed the transmission fluid. I have tried three other oils including Redline, but the noise is still there. Also new clutch and every bearing possible in the gear box.

It could be a flywheel grease problem. If you get under the car you will see an perforated inspection plate under the flywheel bell housing. Remove the plate and then shine a light inside to see if you find any traces of grease being flung out of the flywheel.
