I saw this Mondial T Coupe for sale on Ebay and its less than 100 miles from my place so certainly worth making the drive to inspect the car personally.

    Ebay Item number: 150120413212

Does anybody have any idea of the history of the car and I guess more to the point am I correct in thinking that with all the service reports I shouldnt worry about the 76K odometer reading.

This will be car number three in the household so I dont figure on putting too many additional miles on the car other than at weekends so hopefully if I can simply avoid any glaring errors with your help then my road to ownership might be less costly.

    Many thanks in advance

Very rare car I believe in coupe form. I don't know anything about this particular car but remember you don't have the reliability of the 3.2 or older 3x8/Mondi engines. Plus side is a fair amount more HP. Other downside is the engine out majors increasing the cost. But, if the extra maint./service costs don't concern you, it would be real cool to have such a rare coupe. Good luck, hope the pricing is reasonable.

That last part is a incorrect statement Jeff. How about an overview of your thoughts on 3.4 Mondial T & 348 reliability so we can try & understand your point of view.

The 3.4 is an excellent engine. Any 348 or Mondial T can give you years of enjoyment without reliability issues with either the 3.4, or the chassis.

The major service can be somewhat more involved but the complete platform is enough of an upgrade to make it more than worth the additional investment.

I bet the 3.4 coupes will hold their value pretty well.

Thanks for the advice and I drove down to look at the car and arrived when there was absolutely nobody around which gave me the chance to look over the exterior of the car without any interruptions.

The look of the car was far more aggressive than I remember and in general it did seem to look in decent shape although when I started to really look at it the shutlines were not symetrical and there seemed to be overspray over flaking paint at the edges on two of the panels.

At the front there seemed to be a lot of road rash even for 76K and the lens cover was broken as well as evidence of fresh paint.

Have to say probably against my better judgement I am still very interested and will call the guy and ask about the concerns regarding the cosmetics then depending on the outcome get a test drive, look at the internals and a PPI.

    Thanks again

I have no actual knowledge regarding reliability of the 3.4, only what I have heard from owners of both types of cars on this board and have read. While this probably is not a big issue compared to the 3.0 and 3.2 QV's it is generally stated that these engines are the most reliable Ferrari engines there are. That is the basis for my post. I'd love a mondial t coupe, don't get me wrong, but I'd go into it understanding that it's going to cost a few thousand more a year, maybe more.
