looking for some ideas on my 89 mondial-T as it is difficult to shift. hard to get into reverse and it'll pop out. 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd are difficult. 3rd to 4th is good, 4th to 5th is good. looked in the service manual for shift linkage specs but didn't see any, is there another doc that describes ?
I have no idea what this might be but I am curious to hear what the experts say. I suggest filling out your profile and providing more detail like when did the problem start and how long have you had the car. Does it get better when warmed up? Do you know what type of gear oil you have and if it is full? Best of luck, dave
always was like that since I bought it 1 1/2 years ago warmup doesn't matter, understand the why's and wherefor's put some redline in trans and that help'd some but it's nowhere where it should be didn't see any alignment instructions in the service manual and was looking for that for starters parts manual shows the components obviously was driving it last week and the shift lever actuall snapped, so whoever had it before mistreated it
sounds like you DO have an issue if it's popping between shifts and/or difficult to get in gear. Might even be a clutch issue I'm guessing. you need to search on the 348 gear box area....for starters http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187999&highlight=348+gear+box http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188943&highlight=348+gear+box http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72446&highlight=348+gear+box http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182374&highlight=348+gear+box http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=173801&highlight=348+gear+box
It had a new clutch put in before I bought it last year Now the work wasn't very good, I found various loose stuff, missing hardware, etc. mostly sloppy work who knows what they did
