This is my first post in more than 5 years!

Does anyone know how to debug the ride control system that came on the Mondial t?

The fault light is on so the system defaults to the medium setting which is OK for most things but I want to do some more spirited driving.

Maybe there is a way to disconnect the servos and manually set them to the hard setting?

    Please help.

Didn't this come on other cars besides the Mondial t?

When the system fails, doesn't it default to the hard setting? I no longer have my Mondail T, but I thought this is how it worked.

BTW, in the absense of any direct debugging advice, I would check that electrical connections to the servos are clean and tight, as well as the accelerameter and other components. If I remember correctly, there was an update to the accelerameter and suspension ECU that allowed it to check for changes in more directions and therefore make it less apt to be confused. My 1990 T predated this update, but the fault would go away after a restart or two. I can't tell from your profile what year your T is.

    Thanks Lou.

Yes, it defaults to the middle setting when the system fails. I didn't know about the accelerometer and will check that next. I have checked the other parts.

My Mondial t is an 89 so I assume that it does not have the update.

To my understanding, the dealership has a diagnostic plug in tool for this, and that tool is your only route of debugging. The plug for it is under the passenger front floor board.

Additionally, when you turn your key on, you should hear a quick "cycle" of the shock valving motors. The motors will turn one way, than the other, checking for function. Is yours doing that?

You can disconnect the shock motors pretty easily, and set those shocks to firm by hand.

it defaults to the midium setting upon failure. Have you ever driven with the hard setting... "hard" is a understatment...it is like driving a buckboard wagon. make a appt. with your dentist first as all your fillings will get knocked out. I think some corvettes had a ver similar system and you might be able to source the motors from chevy but I think the prob is most likely a sensor , ecu or electrical connection issue, stabliant on all the connections is a good first step, assuming the system worked recently. the accleometer is located all teh way in teh front and is prone to vibration and moisture failures.
