hey guys any thoughts on this: i am reluctant to buy a mondial t inspite of the marked increase in performance because i have heard that the shocks are difficult to replace as they dont make them anymore. do i need to be so paranoid. any other major concerns, i dont care about the cost as much as the availability

a top mechanic for mike sheehan had said that the electric shocks are hard to come buy. I am really new to all of this so excuse my absolute ignorance. even dummies love ferraris you know.

Shocks are not the problem. It's the gear that alters the valving controlled by the solenoid on the top. Plenty of replacement metal gears available on eBay. Don't let this stop you!

shock can be expensive but they are out there, my current T has had one gear replacement and that was just a minor issue IMO...your adjustable suspension control will probably lock in HARD mode when that happens and be either a loose wire, sensor, or more likely a bad adj-motor/gear.

there is a guy on ebay who mfgrs metal ones at a reasonable price, haven't looked much into it, but it seems for the 348/Mondial-T setup they would extend that gears life...albeit, not a big issue in my mind in any fashion and I will NOT be racing out to acquire them...just an interesting item.

but this should give you an idea that others are looking at such.

NOW, if you want to talk issues, make sure it has a good track record, has has its servicing done in recommeded times. and CHECH THE FUSE box...hated that one...that's an issue with me.
