    Hi guys
The starter on my 89 Mondial T cab is getting a little flaky. I was thinking about putting in a high-torque starter. Is this a DIY job? Anybody done it?
I have the car on a QuickJack right now, looks like 3 bolts to get it off and it would come out the bottom, but will the starter actually come out/go in without removing a bunch of other parts?

    Thanks
    Sam

    Hello

Removing the starter is very easy.
Just the 3 bolts to undo indeed and the electric cables to undo.

Starter problems on the Mondial t can sometimes be due to low (key) switched voltage getting to the solenoid. As you may know, adding a relay to more directly provide 12V to the solenoid is a well-known solution. There are threads that describe this.

    Thanks Rupp3r

I spent more time worrying that it wouldn't come out then it took to actually get it out!

aec - thanks, if I still have problems, that will be my next step
