I am trying to decide on new tires for my 1989 mondial t. Has anyone tried the pirelli P0? I would like the tire that has the best performance, but goodyears on the italian car doesn't seem right.

Ditto on the period tires for 1989 being Goodyear. I even remember a tv or news ad with Enzo from the mid eighties praising the relationship between Goodyear and Ferrari on the "passenger" cars.

I put Bridgestones on mine. Seem to work very very well. Used TireRack to buy them, saved quite a bit.

Toyo's for me. About 1/2 the cost of Pilots or P-Zeros and handle great. No noise.

Eagle F1's. It was homologated on its predecessors and are a natural evolution of the originals. I have used them for a year, in city use, 150mph+ in Germany, long and short trips, winter and summer, rain, ice and shine.

I recently put Bridgestone RA 760s on my Mondi t. I like Bridgestone on all of my cars. Well priced too.

MY 89 Mondi T came with Goodyear Eagles as the original tires. It had Dunlop 6000s on it when I got it. Last summer I bought Goodyear Eagle F1s and I love them and would buy them again. Shop around and look for the rebates to take the bite $$$ out of the wallet. Very sticky tires and they have a gr8 look to them. If you get caught in an occasional rain, they are awesome on wet pavement even at higher speeds. No slipping slidding or losing traction on these tires. I have a friend who races other brands of cars at a track and he says they use the Eagle F1s there as well.

They look awesome as well. Something else I've noticed, they seem to keep their deep dark color as well and don't turn gray or oxidize as fast as the other tires. ???

I think I paid about $850.00 installed and even got a free ride to the brickyard for the practice at last years F1 GP in Indy.

    Best of luck shopping,
    Dave

    Hi folks,

What I've noticed is that in the stock sizes for the Mondi, the Goodyear F1 -GS D3 has a wider footprint than other makes in the same sizes. The tread edge is in line with edge of rim. On the subjective side, I like the "tiger stripe" tread design and the very clean look of the sidewall. They're smooth as glass and very quiet. I'm at 10k on the set and will probably replace rears within the next couple of ks'.

    Cheers, Hank
