Hi, this is my first time posting and i am looking for some help on wheels for my 89 Mondial T Convertible. It now has the factory 16" but i would like to put one something a little bigger and with more of a spoke design. Does anyone know what size wheel and tire combo will fit up under it and not rub?
    Thanks in advanced

There are tons of threads on wheel upgrades for the Mondials, I myself have put on several different wheels from the 355's to the aftermarket 19". I tried stock 18" 360 Modenas at one time, but the rears were rubbing against the fenders at high speed cornering, probably had the wrong size tires because 10" rears are not a problem for the T. There is a lot to choose from, just make sure you have the right size lugs.

Here's the famous Eberlein t Coupe with 360 Challenge wheels.

BTW - (o/t) How's life in Niceville? Up until recently it was my home for 20 years. Miss it well :(

Wade, that is my favorite Mondial...ever. Those wheels look perfect.

Niceville is great! We love it here. Unfortunately it's time to move again, on to Vegas in November.

Here it is. I may use the same wheels on my new Mondial, we'll see.

    Hi 89MondialT
Would you like to sell your set of 16" wheels?
I'd like to convert my metric QV to imperial.
    Thanks for you reply!

Hey at this time i am not really interested in selling them due to the fact if down the road i were to sell the car it may bring more with the original wheels

And thanks every one else for the help

Thanks for your reply and good luck with the conversion.
You might want to keep the scrub radius the same despite a potentially different wheel diameter so that your toe-in setting remains correct.
(= choose the right wheel offset, possibly different from original)

360 wheels will work if you have the mounting surfaced on the inside of the rear wheel's machined down by 1/2". Then you have to use your stock lug nuts vs. the longer 360 lugs.

If you ever want to put the 360 wheels on something else in the furture, then you might have to use spacer.

If you are in Northern Califorina, there is Team 3 Wheels in San Leandro who will do it for you at a very reasonable cost.

Or if you want a custom look, such as the stock style in an 18" wheel, they can make a set for you. They do one offs that look great.
