Fchat was a great resource for me when I bought my 355. My friend is thinking about a Mondial T now and wanted to know if anyone had any input on it. Good? Bad? Things to pay attn to? How is maintenance?

    Thanks in advance

there are a few things for the first time buyer to consider....make sure he/she knows that depsite the luxury car image et al. it does not have a power top (for the cab.) has everything else though! It is a great car but you got to love it and want it....there are too many (non-ferrari) alternatives at the price range...but if you want to get into ferrari..it is a great car and a great price point and remember it is the worlds only (so I am told) 4-seat mid-engine full cabriolet! and as soon as we all figure out how ( find a T coupe and lather the top with molding resin) to fabricate a fiberglass removable hard-top for our cabs...we will have "coupes" too!

Things to pay attention to . . . . speed-bumps! Our '89 coupe has low ground clearance - speed-bumps are best avoided if at all possible. When we are out and about we're always surveying places to see if it's Ferrari-friendly for Sophia. The car is absolutely wonderful and so versatile - the back seat is comfortable (I'm 5'), it holds many grocery sacks, if you need more room - just put the seats down. The car is equally at home running errands during the day, being shown at an concorso, taken out on a track day or going out in the evening to a black-tie affair.

    Good luck to your friend.
