I found that a under floor panel was in terrible condition, having suffered potholes and poor country roads needed replacing.

It is difficult where i live with bad camber on the roads sometimes causing it to ground out, and stones to flick up. The car was running very low but i have raised the suspension to prevent this re-occuring, but the damage had been done in the past and it needed sorting. A job I have put off for too long.

You can see in the first picture the extreme abuse this panel has received and the poor condition it was in.

As I was unable to obtain the spares, as it is not listed, so i removed it and had a new one fabricated. I spoke to ferrari and they said they had to have one made before as well.

You can see in the first picture the poor condition it was in.

The second picture shows the top of this panel once removed. ignore where i made holes grinding the rivets, but you can see how much potential for rust there is here To remove it you need to remove the sills ( rivets) grind away the spot welds on the sides and remove the rivets on the floor panel, I ground them off, as it was easier. The rust was causing damage where you could not see but it was not too late and once removed easy to clean up.

I cleaned all the strutts up that are revealed once this panel is cleaned.

I had a new panel fabricated using the one I removed as a pattern. I chose a slightly higher thickness in the metal as I want it to last the minor extra weight is negligible.

I then fitted it with new rivets, I just have to reweld the part whewere it meets the sills but my tig is out of gas at the moment.

I have also had new sills made.

Total cost for fabrication of two sills floor panel and two more panels that fit under the engine,, and have them all powder coated .... under £500.00 UK just one of the extra panels i had made is available from Ferrari at a huge amount more than i paid for the lot.

Job well done and well overdue

It looks great! I'm embarrassed to admit I have floor pan envy. ;)
