http://mol.im/a/11343053 I guess this means Mondial values are now high enough they are worth vandalizing for the political causes of the day? Maybe it is just the t cabriolets, and they don't like the too small side air grills, hopefully my 3.2 cab is safe from the restless crowds of activists.
The thing is none of the cars they vandalized are current models. So, they are someone's pride and joy just like our own cars. If someone did that to my car, I would be both distraught and ready to do serious harm to the person or persons who did it. They do their cause no good at all with the targets they choose. The only good reason to buy one of the Ferrari truck things is that you could run a few of them over without undue damage to it.
I'm sure you could remove these folks using acetone and while that wouldn't be great for a car paint job without clear coat, it's probably not the end of the world if it was used sparingly enough. I don't care if it's a Ferrari or my Prius commuter car though; if I found someone had glued themselves to my car to make a point, my first inclination is just to pull.
If they glued themselves to ambulances it would be a whole lot more helpful to everyone. Unfortunately such episodes will increase as the unstable are encouraged and enabled.
I am sooooo disappointed with the way things are going. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Long before I was an FCar owner, I searched around the Colorado area looking to buy my first FCar. A hardtop Mondial QV popped up somewhere, maybe Craigslist, located in Boulder Colorado. I went to CU Boulder for a graduate degree, undergrad elsewhere, so I was familiar with the "culture", but I was in for a shock. The owner and I got the car out of the garage and drove it around a bit around the populated areas (like Pearl Street and around the University). I was SHOCKED at all the "BOOs" and "HISSes" and actual derogatory language (cursing) yelled at us while we rode around with the windows down. It was all about "killing trees/mother earth" and "gas guzzler" and stuff like that. Treehuggers and "environmentalists" were taking real offense at an older/cheap Ferrari, it was nuts. I didn't end up buying the car but about 10 years later I bought my 308 QV based on Fchat (you can search my history here to see it). Just crazy when it comes to some blinded individuals. 2 side notes: First, Dave Helm's shop used to be in Boulder for a while... I always wondered how he was able to do that in Boulder but eventually he moved out (think he still lives outside of Boulder). Second, the house that had the car was less than a block from JonBenet Ramsey's house, and I looked at the car maybe 3 months before that tragedy. James
