My window on the driver side of my Mondial stopped working, all the others work, the back are supper slow and the passenger is not bad, but my side just died. Any ideas on what to do or change, or at least know where I can get the parts.

Check your fuses, it's pretty unusual for a window motor to actually die.
Could be a bad connection somewhere tho.

If you can hear a motor running, but the window isn't moving, the cable may have gotten rusty & snapped.

Search the body of posts, a few weeks ago I posted links to a power window service procedure, & one with some tips about using std ss cable.

    Hi there,

Ive only had my 84 mondial for a couple of months and still trying to find out how they are put together. Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, drivers window wouldnt come down. I listened carefully and could here a clicking inside the door when I tried the switch so power was getting to it which ruled out the switch and fuse (passengers window worked but dont know if they are on different fuses? I was warned that electrics/fuses may not be in the place that they are marked on the fusebox or may have been rewired due to electrical issues in early cars..!). I took off the door panels and found inside that the window mech runs on wires which is turned by a wheel...the wheel appears to be operated by a motor that points down and has a worm drive (I assume) so when it spins the worm drive turns the wheel and pulls the wires/window up and down. I felt in behind and the motor had a rubber ring on it and when I turned it manually the window went very slowly down, I twisted it back and forward a bit and TOOK MY HAND OUT and tried the switch and it worked again. 2 weeks and still working. I think it had just found a bad spot where it couldnt move from. While I was at it I fixed my electric mirror switch which had never worked. If you dont get a clicking you might want to check your fuse and switch first.

Another basic first test that I used was putting the passenger window up and watching the speed, when I tried the drivers window I could see the passenger window went from slow, to really slow so I assumed that there was power going somewhere and the switch was connected and working.

I did notice that 2 years ago they replaced the motor as i didnt work, wonder if it was just this and they charged for a complete replacement unit. My car hasnt been used much in the last 2 years and everything is a bit flakey and temperamental. I have been told with constant use it will be okay in 6 month but until then it will be a nightmare.

    Hope this helps.

    Frank

Check the fuses, relays, connections, switch, first. I'll bet that fixes it. Then take the door panel off and clean the 20 year-old dried on grease from the cable and tracks and lubricate the suckers with fresh silicone. If none of that works, it could be the motor.

I switched the right window fuse with the left window fuse. And it still did not work. But the right one did. So I'm assuming it's not the fuse. any way I can test it.
