Mondial wiper question...

When I bought my 87' Mondial, the seller said he didn't think that the different speed settings on the wiper delay made any difference. In my experience with the car, this generally seems true.

Last night I was working on the wipers, and decided to test this. Flipping the wipers up to remove any load, I tried to time them. It seemed that the TIME delay did not change between the two setting, it was about 5 seconds in either switch position. The motor SPEED did change, however. That might actually make a slight difference in how frequently the wipers sweep, although not by much. On every other car I've owned, the time delay varied and the motor seemed to run at a single speed for the individual wipe.

Can anyone confirm if this is actually how it works, i.e. only the motor speed changes?
