I have a 81 mondial for sale 40k miles it's good overall condition but needs some more work to complete Sent from my SM-N981U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
It took me about 18months to find my 85 QV coupe. I specifically set out to purchase a coupe. However, my reason was that I just didn't want to deal with convertible top replacement. I have an old Karmann Ghia CV, and it's a PITA to replace the top. Coupes were sold in far fewer numbers here in North America. The 8's were only coupes, but after that, there were very few coupes imported. Here's a chart I copied from a previous posting by another user (EnzoNZ): Image Unavailable, Please Login So, only 347 total coupes imported. As I understand it, the Eurospec deliveries were just the opposite -- lots of coupes, very few convertibles. I love my Coupe. It's comfy, relatively quiet, and the AC works ok (not great, but ok). It sounds great, drives great, and is relatively easy to maintain. If you are maintaining your Dino -- you'd have no problems with a Mondial. Sid
I just bought an 83 coupe qv and was actually wondering how many were imported to the US. Wonder if we can see how many were made in specific color.
Contemplating rehoming our 1 owner QV Cabriolet. Sera Blue, 21k miles, buult October 1983. Black leather, top. Newer Coker tires, TrXs. Boston based BRO
I've tried to find numbers on the colors, but so far haven't been able to. Anecdotally -- I see a lot of Mondial 8's in Red. I see a lot of QVs in blue (mine is blu sera). Haven't really noticed any pattern in 3.2s or t's (but I really haven't been looking). Sid
Mine is red with tan interior and black bumpers with black trim on the side vents. Haven’t seen too many that look like that l.
Sounds gorgeous. I don't think that I've ever seen one with different trim color for the vents. Mine is blu sera, with black bumpers. I really like how the bumpers are black on the 8s and QVs. I think it accentuates the cars curves. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I bought the car in February. Car is great. Did the timing belts myself and already put 600+ miles on it. Minor dings. Nothing bad at all. Great car so far. Had old gas in it of course but the more I drive it the more it’s clearing up. He sold it cheap and not sure why it didn’t sell before. I was wondering where that car wound up. I called the dealer and her told me it was sold. Glad you are enjoying it!~
I came home from grade school one day in April 1984, and there she was in the garage with the famous tails staring at me.
Welcome to the 83qv club! Had mine about a year... so fun to drive. Such a unique car. Mine is metallic red over tan. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rosso metallizato is a rare gem, I remember seeing magazine ads with that color on early 308s. Nice to see non corsa, Prugna, and even Marrone... (brown)
Thank you, I agree. Love corsa, but other colors are so nice too. The metallic red is fascinating because it looks dramatically different in different light.
I think I have a bit of solkholm syndrome from mondial coupes. Use to loath them bit holy **** are they sexy a few years on Edit: the sound definitely plays a roll. The sound is like a smart woman. An immediate +2 if you just dont play dumb
what are your wheel and tire specs? stock 348's front and rear? milled hubs or anything? tire sizes? Your fit looks very nice! thanks
Thanks. I love how the 348 wheels look on the car. I think the lines fit perfectly. Yes, they are standard 348 wheels. Front are 215/50ZR-17 and 255/45ZR-17 on the rear. Not as many tire choices as in the past, but I got CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS and have been pleased with them. Car rides and drives so much nicer than the stock wheels and tires.
Thanks Scott. I wish I could document how many metallic red's came to the US. Mine is 1 of 69 total USA QV coupes which is amazing in and of itself... I can't imagine there were many metallic reds. Heck could be a 1 of 1 !
Agree. I've always been a convertible guy.... but I think the coupe looks so much nicer in the Mondial. Gets better with age. Love the classic Ferraris! So much fun!
