A sharp eye and clear memory, have you, young Jedi!! Indeed, I won the auction when last this car was on BaT. That was in late November. Regretfully, within a day of winning the auction and after having made contact with the seller and setting numerous wheels in motion to close the deal, my son and I were involved in an accident that killed my truck (tow vehicle), caused some injuries to my son and I, and rather screwed up the whole affair. I was unable to complete the deal and deeply regret it. See Posts #1141 in this thread. What I can say is that everything was as expected with the car and the seller. It is fairly represented and I hope someone here is able to find this girl a lovely new home. I suspect this will be my "the one that got away" story for quite some time.
I must say that at age 54 I don't mind being called young Jedi one bit. hehe Yes thanks for the refresh- it came back to me pretty much after seeing your user ID. I believe you mentioned back then that BAT eliminated their need for any fees, based on the circumstances. I hope that everyone has recovered from that unfortunate accident.
I've been in contact with this owner quite a bit since his 1st BAT auction fell through ( 2017 buyer had some personal issues take priority over the car deal) Owner is a nice guy. He had it on consignment at a dealer and the contract just ran out so he's back to selling it privately.
My interaction trying to complete the purchase last fall was just fine. Everything progressing quite satisfactorily until my traffic accident. Both the seller and BaT were more than understanding over the circumstances. I wish him the best of luck with the auction this time and believe the buyer will be a very happy guy. It's a nice little beastie.
I love the Daytona interiors they just give the car that little extra, Ferrari's make a statement the Daytona interiors just add to it. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Congrats to the seller of the Bat red Mondial 3.2 cab. This was the same car I had to yield on after winning the auction. The seller put it back up and I'm glad to say it went this time for even more. Good for you, dude. Sorry to have been a pain but really glad you got an even better winning bid this time out.
New T Cab listed on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-ferrari-mondial-t-cabriolet/ Let's see if BAT is still T hungry or that stomach has been filled. The last two did very well. This looks like a 20,500 mile car that needs a major. Looks like it has traded hands a few times and the current owner is a flipper. (Owned it 4 months) Says previous owner was in AZ. There was an AZ car on AutoTrader for some time with incorrect wheels, wondering if this was the car? I call high bid $39,000. Just my guess.
I'd put the over/under at $45k. That last 3.2 went at just over $35. This being a late t, I'm thinking at least $10k up from there.
A cautious man would give it a service soonest. It had a smattering of issues but was represented as a nice driver. The t seems a bit more overall. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
What do you guys think the cost of the clutch service on a "t" would be? He's flipping it but dumped some $$ into it..
Isn't that accessible with dropping the rear sub frame which gets you the engine and transaxle? I don't know the cost of that. Others here will. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
They were also first to elevate 308/328 prices. Took several years before higher prices hit our shores. Because of the unfair(IMHO) reputation the Mondial has, it may never happen here.
$48,500 hammer price! Plus the 5% buyers premium and due for a major, so call it $60k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
