    Hi All,
    I'm not sure if I can post it here before becoming a sponsor (contacted Rob already). I’d like to know: Those of you who own F360 and F430 without CCB system (carbon/ceramic brakes) – would you like to have an option to upgrade to carbon brake rotors for sensible price?
    Direct replacement set (front/rear discs) – a bit less than 9 990$?
    2pc disc, carbon rotor, alu hat, titanium floating hardware.

    Complete brake kit (front/rear 2pc disc, carbon rotor, alu hat, titanium floating hardware, top quality caliper, kevlar/stainless lines – under 14990$?

    Brake disc material is undergoing final testing (independent authorized testing facility) on dyno. We’re trying to choose specific car model to start “on car” testing.

    Price sounds good.........currently the steel replacements go for about that price. Who will be making them?

    I don't have a dog in the fight really, but I would make a zillion percent sure you have proper testing of these 'aftermarket CCB items', on cars of F430 caliber. I'd also make a zillion percent (plus another zillion for good measure) you have rock solid no-holes-bared product liability insurance. Hell hath no fury like that of a widow, or aggressive lawyer.

    Having said that, the market does need a more affordable version of this stuff. I'd love to have a quality aftermarket option for CCB in my catalog too.

    I can not add details and pics at this moment. After independent testing is over it will be possible. I’m curious: What will be more appealing - direct replacement of factory cast iron disc rotors with composite 2pc rotors of same diameter? This will be less expensive but benefits are reduced to some extent: Big reduction in unsprung rotating weight and fade free operation + some additional stopping power – due to higher μ. But not that much because of same rotor size.
    Another option is “bigger” full brake kit i.e. larger rotors, stiffer higher quality calipers, lines etc., but at ~ 50% higher price. Here one has additional benefits of higher stopping power and aesthetics.

    PS: In terms of testing we go as far as mounting an accelerometer on each wheel to measure difference in unsprung mass vert. accelerations. Next stage is measuring on the seven post suspension rig – reduction of contact patch load variations and as result, increased grip.

    The option of larger diameter rotors is good. But calipers and lines should be of the highest quality already for any of the kits. WHy would someone spend $15k on brakes, if they already know they're not get the stiffest calipers offered?
    Another thing to consider, especially if increase rotor size, is to ensure absolutely perfect brake balance. This is not something to get "almost" right on a Ferrari. The stock brakes are very good already, even without CCB. Make sure the "kit" is actually an improvement.

    Also, you may want to fill out your profile if trying to sell products of this nature and price range. Background?

    – I was not considering offering calipers and brake lines for factory size rotors – direct replacement CC brake rotors. For a bigger diameter rotors – yes best possible caliper on the market – best stiffness/weight/area combination. Caliper stiffness (assuming brake lines are adequate) is of major importance – we like rock solid brake pedal when one modulates the brakes by changing pressure rather than pedal travel.

    - Standard brake balance is less than perfect because not all Ferrari owners are professional race drivers. It’s on the safe side i.e. front tires do more than they are able to and rears do less. This is norm for a road car. We’re not going to alter it one bit. In fact there no such thing as constant perfect brake balance. It will change with every chassis/driver/tire/road/etc. combination. Ultimately it boils down to matching brake force distribution to F/R axle longitudinal force capability. With slight edge (depends on driver experience) forward for stability.
    But in our case bigger diameter rotors will generate proportionally bigger force for the same pressure in the system – no change in balance.

    - I’m race engineer not a brake system designer or material scientist. My job is to make sure that factory brake and handling balance is maintained. Instrumented proving ground and road tests etc. I have a bit of background - I can tell you more via PM.
