When I called and asked about lunch they clearly said FJ did not include lunch and that there would be "Food Carts" available for FJ's. At other FCA events unless you had tickets for lunch which came when you got your passes you couldn't get into the tent. It's not so much having lunch with me.
Some like the tent for the 200 Supermodels who are looking to meet someone like you and Rob... That said I did buy tickets to Woodstock only to find that once I got there you really didn't need them.

    LOL! Woodstock!

This is reminding me of the track day I attended with my kids once... had to get them lunch at TWS Infield, which is a wasteland....if concessions are closed.

Fed them at the catered tent, provided by.....Sietel, Paul Frame.........

    Thanks Paul!

I guess I should send him some money...he really needs it now! LOL Naaaaaah.

Tom got back to me the 3 heads of state are discussing right now what we've been trying to figure out. Seems like there hasn't been any definite decision yet on what FJ really means, mainly around if lunch is included or not. I'm pretty sure it's not just 18 and under though.

The 3 heads of state are going to review this thread, so please post your comments if you have any. Thanks.

When I bought my tickets I was told FJ did not include lunch and had to be under 18. As leaving my teenage daughter on her own for lunch didn't seem like the thing to do as the rest of us are over 18 I bought F2 for 5 of us including her. If FJ is for anyone accompanying an F1 or F2 regardless of age and includes lunch IMHO I'm entitled to a refund on 4 F2 tickets vs. 4 FJ.

What you say is true Jim, but you're not helping things any. One way or another they're going to make someone mad. Either people that used the FCA form or people that used the official event site at www.fca2004.com. Maybe you should make an argument for all spouses and kids should be able to get the FJ if the main party has the full paid F1/F2. Why should the spouse have to pay full price for being a tag along? Big deal, the $350 should be more than enough to cover lunches and etc. Remember, many of us don't have money floating around to cover F2's for everyone. Don't ruin it for the rest of us Jim just because you paid for the F2's. ;)

As you well know the truth is the truth and stating it is an obligation.
You must:"Shout it from the rooftops..."
I agree that FJ should be for anyone "tagging with" an F1 or F2 and should include lunch but if it doesn't, it doesn't. If it does I and others who called, asked and followed the written declarations should get a refund. Why would you have a problem with that?

I don't have a problem with refunds, that's fair if that's the way it goes. What I was worried about was you arguing that spouses should be required to have the F2. I'm glad you stated you hope the FJ covers everything and you can get a refund. We're all good now. Thanks.

Also, if you are like me and only have time to see the concours and can bring a sack lunch and a six pack of bud lite in a cooler, then there is no cost for spectators at the FCA concours.

Also, if you want a day at the track, $20 entry fee to spectators on the FCA track days.

Now throw in my free SWA ticket and rent car and hotel - I am not out very much.

Yes I am an accountant and did not want to pay F2 or FJ for just walking around looking at some cars on concours day.

There apparently was a decision made 2 months ago on pricing. Here is the answer:

"We are permitting the purchase of ala carte lunches for each of the events--track, rally, concours. We just need to get the word out--in the meantime you can have people email or call me. (John Hurabiell, [email protected] or 415-387-3001). On the brunch we're talking $25.00. The box lunch on Monday is set at $20.00. The Wed/Thu track lunches are at $25.00. No resolution as yet on Tuesday lunch at the Concours. Also we are offering the Aquarium Dinner ala carte for $185.00 and the Awards Banquet for $200.00. F-Jr allows entry to the track which we are charging $20.00 to spectators. What the F-2 does not include is lunch at the track.
We plan an email blast that will go out to all registrants mid-July with the total pricing."

Despite the above FJ does not include lunch but F2 does. The under 18 has been changed. A la carte lunch applies to FJ. WORD.

Hmmm. Not quite what I was expecting from their printed literature!

But still, FJr plus a few $25 and $20 fees to join me in the tent at lunch is still way cheaper than F2. Now, if they try to charge me an additional $185 for my FJr's Aquarium dinner, they are going to get an earful... the form very clearly says that it includes the Aquarium Dinner and the Awards Banquet.

So, for those "tag-alongs" not participating in the rally, I still think FJr is the better deal.

    One other comment...

Those better be some damn good box lunches!! If its the typical box lunch with a cold sandwich, a bag of tasteless chips, an apple, and a stale cookie... then they won't be selling too many! Me and my FJr will split my "free" box as a snack and we'll go get some real food in early afternoon... for $25 we can nearly cover some darn good food at a restaurant elsewhere in the Monterey area!!

Tom, so does FJ include box lunches and Aquarium/Awards dinner? Doesn't sound like it, but making sure.

So F-2 includes all box and dinners, except for track lunch?

    Thanks for clarifying,
    rob

Per the FCA2004 Chairs: A Formula Junior can be purchased for any age person, but can only be purchased in conjunction with a Formula One or Formula Two. In other words you can not buy a stand alone Formula Junior. The Formula Junior includes only the following: Aquarium Dinner, Awards Banquet, Spectator Admission to the Concours, Spectator Admission to the track (Mon, Wed, Thu).

Ahh, if that's correct, then I think FJ is the way to go. The missing box lunches are only $65 total if my math is right. Thank you.

    You are correct on F-2.

F-Jr. gets you the 2 dinners and entrance to the track. No lunches anywhere. There will be ala carte available.

The caterer is Tarpy's Restaurant at all events except at Quail where we are still talking.

Wow. After all this - I just realized that this event takes place the week school starts back here in Texas. So that doesn't work for me. Is the BIG event always held this late in the year? I know it is scheduled to be around the other big car events, but looks like a lot of places are starting school earlier.

Oh well - I guess there is always next year.

    :(

The FCA event varries from year to year. Some are first thing in the summer (Dallas). I think Pebble stuff is always the same week.
