The pictures were so few and not terribly revealing so I think it's hard to really tell much. I'd guess they made it look better than it really is? At $40K clearly the owner wanted to sell it very badly. At that kind of price you might do better parting a car out ...
Hi all, does anybody know if the much hyped AUTO UNION C-Type was sold last weekend? There was a Maserati A6G-2000 Zagato in the Zagato-class in the Concours last weekend. It made 3rd place. Photos anybody? Ciao! Walter
The Auto Union was a no sale: interesting that it took some time for that information to come out but when auction results are poor they are not in a hurry to post the results. best regards, Marc
Walter, I've attached some photos of the A6G Zagato. It was a fabulous example. Larry Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Larry, many thanks. I know that car (#2155) and its very interesting and confusing history, . Ciao! Walter
The Auto Union was bid to 6 mil, it was one of the last lots. The auction ran late into the evening, (possibly by design to be able to access early morning bidders from Europe as well as those in the Asian and Middle East. Joe

You're welcome, there was also a Lister with a Maserati straight six that was around. Probably an A6GCS engine. Listed as a 1956 Lister-Maserati BHL1 owned by John Fudge of Oklahoma. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24302083@N05/3831389509/in/set-72157622069583530/
Yep, thats an A6GCS-engine! Never heared that a Lister was ever equipped with such an engine. Ciao! Walter

The Monterey Historics program lists it as a 2L engine. Of the Lister? Just the one that I linked to in post #15. If you click on all sizes you can zoom in a bit.
