Hey guys, I Live in Illinois, but Ive been admiring the sights every year of the different Concours shows in the Monterey area. I am hopefully going to be able to make it out this year. Anyways, Is there anything specifically i should about these events? Is there alot of crazy cars that come out? How are the people there? At an event of this magnitude, is it really a great event in real life or does it just look good on TV? Help me out please guys!
    Thanks,
    Jacob

I'm from Illinois also and this summer will be my 21'st year going, does that tell you it's worth it? PM me if you want suggestions. Been doing it for a long time and I go to just about everyone event, auction, show, etc being offered. Wed- Sun

I have been going for many years as well and can say it's well worth it. There are multiple formal events to see and just walking around the street you will see tons of unbelievable cars. If you have anymore questions just ask.

These are some of my favorites:

    Concorso Italiano

    The quail

Monterey Motorsports Reunion (historic races at laguna seca)

    Pebble Beach

    Rm auction

    Gooding auction

    Bonhams auction

You really can't beat the casual cars on Ocean Ave. Some stunning cars and free. I believe it usually happens on Wednesday morning of car week. My wife and I are there every year. I actually love just hanging out on Ocean during the week. If you know your cars, you will have your head on a swivel all week! Concorso Italiano is a very good and reasonable event. I've been at the Quail a couple times. It is quite nice but pretty pricey. Enjoy, it is an experience to say the least.

Does anyone have any info on the Khaki's event for this year? I looked all over and couldn't find any info for 2011. I saw on there site that they are still having it, but also saw that they moved locations. Any info would be great!

I have two tickets to the Concourso Italiano that I will be unable to use if anyone reading this thread is interested. I paid $200 ($100 each) and would happily sell them for $150. PM me if interested.

Well, I could say that it was pretty much some of the greatest days of my life. What I did though is more spotting out on the streets, rather than going in the events. They get awfully pricy, so I would suggest not going to events, or a couple if that (Concorso & Pebble). I know you're a YouTuber so I'll send you a message there, but it's definitely worth every penny you spend!

Check out my set on Flickr from last year to see the epicness :D

My list of car week events

Get to Monterey on Wednesday afternoon
    Wednesday - Automobelia
Thursday- Pebble Beach tour cars on Ocean Ave. Great cars - WAY too many people
Thursday evening - Baja Cantina - great casual event next to the Quail
Friday - Concorso Italiano is not to be missed
Friday - The Quail has fantastic cars but not Italian specific - so you get a bunch of other things that may or may not interest you
Friday night- RM auction at the Portola - very cool cars going for serious money
    Saturday - Laguna Seca Historics
Saturday evening-I believe the Khaki event is no longer the Khaki Ferrari event as they are no longer at the Barnyard. However, last year the Barnyard still had the event without them. It didn't appear to be as well attended as in the past but still a nice show. Hopefully this year it will be back in full force. It has always been one of my favorite, low key events.
Saturday night - RM auction at the Portola
Sunday -Pebble Beach if you are into that kind of thing
