Well guys and gals, we made it out here! The Hertz Shelby GTH is a fun toy. There's three driving around here. Had a sneak peak at the P4/5 today before the official unveiling tomorrow. Saw and talked to Shaughnessy about his IL barn find. Unreal, pics to come. Auction on Sat and there's a number of Ferrari's going to the block, hope to be able to drive at least one up to the block. lots of pics so far, over 300. Will update after the Italian Concours if I can. Hoping to meet up with Husker Bill, Mike E, and Carla tomorrow.

Day Two" The Italian Concourso was fantasitc. 35'th anniv of the Pantera and they were out in force, including a one of a kind topless one. Watched Jay Leno work on a perspective new toy of his at the RM Auction preview. The unveiling of the P4/5 was great. Jam packed and worth the wait.

Yes, I noticed that 'The Tonite Show' were "re-runs".

Man, I love Pantera's! Can you post a picture of the Topless one? That I gotta see! I just cannot picture it....It is such a Looooow car already.....Much lower than a 308 even.

Next year I should have added some more Titanium parts to me decrepit old bod. (A knee) and will Definitely join you.

Pics will be coming within a few more days. I have two CDs worth of them and nearly two hours of video. I'll have a copy at the Italian Village event if I can make it. The P4 was again shown on display at Pebble Beach today also Ferrari had a small display of seven cars in a special display. My favorite Ferrari for the weekend was a Calif. Spyder in a unique but actual teal color that was entered in PB. I talked to the owner as he descibed the car to me. Hope the pics do justice to it. Last night was my icing on the cake. I landed driving up a 365GTS4 Daytona Spyder alloy conversion up to the block at the RM auction amoung other toys. It sold for a cool $320k. I loved it. Got some great behind the scene shots at the auctions.

Until you get the chance to, I got you covered to keep everyone from waiting :) I didn't get a chance to speak with the owner, what is the deal with it? Original color?

Yes I talked to both owners on Thursday at the tour. This is believe it or not the actual color that this car was painted from the factory. Pics don't do justice to it.

Frank when I get more time I'll send all the related Topless pantera pics to you. In the meantime I sent one pic along with a number of others to Andreas to post here. Now the topless one was not complete but it is the original design of what it was suppose to look like. The owner and I talked for some time and by next year he should have the fully completed version. If it's anything like his other Pantera, it's going to be great. He has a Blue with white striped one that he already refused $250k for it. It is one of my all time favorite Panteras. I've got pics of that one too. in fact you already have pics of that one from my shots from last year. The basic shape stays the same but the interior will be totally redone and built in head rests for the seats. The conceptional drawings were great.

Yes it went up and did sell if I remember. I'll have to dig up my list to see if I captured the price or not. If anything it will be on RM"s web site by the end of the week. I thought it went over a million. I know the Saleen didn''t sell and bidding stopped at $320k, supposidly just short of it's reserve.

The Hertz Shelby GTH is not the Shelbey 500 version. It is hopped up more than a standard GT with some 50 extra horses. I had a ball with it, had to keep showing it to lots of people all weekend long. Early Sunday morning the famous 17 miles drive by PB was literially deserted so I was in my glory hauling around the hills and curves in it. I would seriously consider buying one of these when they come up for bid from Hertz. Most likely all spoken for. They are instant collectibles already and a lot cheaper than the GT 500. Now a friend just informed me that the dealers want the same performance version of these for sale, so 10,000 units will be produced with two distinct color schemes and same performance. Wonder what the price will be.
