    Hmm. I didn't read anything in there about a breakaway series, but rather a possible change in the promotion/commercial rights company.

    This is step three in the current dance. Step one was when Luca made comments about the possibility of a break-away series if the new Concorde (2012) didn't provide sufficient compensation for the teams. It seems that the negotiations have begun.
