Sore loser...he could have had Alonso instead of Crapi, I mean Kimi if he would have confirmed Schumacher was leaving a little sooner...

I'll have to agree with him on this one. Apart from the glitz and glamour, this venue is absolutely worthless from a racing perspective.

Ferrari hasn't done well in Monaco in the last few years, so I'm sure they'll bounce back in Canada.

However I'm more disappointed that Monte isn't going for Prime Minister. He'd be a terrific leader and could clean up some of Italy's political mess.

Not at all a sore loser. Having been to Monaco, it is nothing more than a parade. It is strictly tradition, not a good race. You go for the color, for whomever leads at the first turn and stays off barriers, will likely win.

Except for an early inquiry as a test driver, Alonso was not even considered by Ferrari. His personality is difficult for the Italian team. His personality is difficult for many people. Likely why Ron Dennis hired him.

I don´t give a xxxx about Italian politics but I do care about Ferrari, so I prefer things this way.

Anyway, as Ronald Reagan said, "the best brains are not in politics because corporations had stolen them". Or something like that.

If you care that much about Ferrari, then you should care who runs that country: The factory and the racing team get affected by union decisions, strikes etc.

A few years ago the unions told everybody to go on strike and as the racing team arrived at the factory gates to work on the car development a bit of a fist fight erupted as the union folks didn't want them to enter.

And everybody who ever visits the factory can see why it takes so long to build these cars: The moment the clock strikes 12 EVERYBODY runs for the exit to have lunch. The entire factory becomes a ghost town.

FYI, staying off the barriers is a measure of a driver's skills...that's why Monaco is won by the best driver and not necessarily the best car. And, that was my point...that Ferrari should have considered Alonso...as far as his personality is concerned, where do you see he has a problem? At least he doesn't embarrass the sponsors by getting drunk in public like Kimi.

Isn't all that stuff part of the Italian madness that is Ferrari? I can't really believe they could keep their spirit and thus the spirit of their cars if they all worked like robots...

I have said it from the time they hired Kimi....I prefer MAssa.

After Kimi's startup, not as many are in his corner.

    Kimi fans ---- speak up!

Am I a Kimi fan? Not sure, honestly. Do I want him to win this year's WDC? You bet. I'm very disappointed with his blunder and then lack of aggressiveness at Monaco. But I'm hopeful he'll turn around. Problem is, it might be too late by the time he "wakes up". And I seriously wonder whether he'll ever find his feet. I don't believe all that crap about the ladida world of fitting into the Ferrari team blablabla. These are all professionals and do this for a living. So if he doesn't perform now, it probably has more to do with him not flipping the switch (using Lauda's metaphor here) in his brain. Why he doesn't do it? No idea.

The thing that irks me the most is, that Kimi is one of the fastest and most talented 3 people on the grid (the other two sitting in a Merc). He could compete with them, but he doesn't. THAT's what's really annoying. It's like Mozart playing Polka.

But, what we seem to forget, is that it's *always* been that way - I was also there a couple of times over 20 years back, and the stories were *identical*:

    - No overtaking
    - Pole = Win unless you screwup (or it rains.....)

Mr Montezemolo certainly does not want it removed from the calendar / becoming a no points race / etc. But, it is a joke!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Italy is still not as Afghanistan and they have sold their production for the next 2 or 3 years, so if I were Mr. Montezemolo I wouldn´t worry about unions. I would be more worried about those Mc-Mercs.

I´m living the opposite situation: the president of my country is always talking about our great economic situation, but I´m still poor!

This guy is a joke. Every F1 "race" is a tv show, nothing more. There is no "racing" only driving. No such thing as F1 racers, only F1 drivers. I doubt he was saying the same thing when Michael won 13 of 17 odd races or something like that. He needs to shut up.

I disagree... The measure of a true driver is not how well he can keep off the barriers..... There are many factors that divide the men from the boys and staying off the barriers is only a small variable, to the many that make up a champion.....
The rest of the venues are won by DRIVER, TEAM (engineers, mechanics etc.) and CAR......... If the rest were won by car, and if that statement were true, then, why is renault falling short this year from their two year world championship reign????

don't know what your talking about. he was up there on the podium every race until his car broke. he has what it takes and there are alot of ferrari friendly races left in the season. i wouldn't be surprised if he won the next three. hopefully he has his dnf's out of the way and alonzo hasn't had his yet.

... er, their car sncks this year that is why. But yes their drivers are not top grade ... but Renault have admitted that their car has issues.

Staying off the barriers and also being fast is EVERYTHING and all that is required to make a true racing driver. Think about it!
