Chip Ganassi Racing has today confirmed that Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya will make his debut in a NASCAR sanctioned event at Memphis Motorsport Park on October 28, taking part in the Busch Series Sam's Town 250.

Montoya has competed in two ARCA events, getting his first experience in stock-car racing, first at Talladega where he finished third, and last weekend at Iowa Speedway where he crashed while battling for the lead, finishing 24th.

The Colombian tested at Memphis Motorsport Park last week but drove a Nextel Cup Car, so his race at Memphis will be his first time in a Busch Series car, which has less power than what he has driven so far.

This week Montoya is testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, where he shares the track for the first time with all the Nextel Cup regulars.

This week's test could also be in preparation for his Cup debut, which could occur at the same track on November 19 in the season finale.
