He did this getting to his position on the grid and damaged his car. Can the team replace the barge board without a penalty?

They did replace some of the bits. JPM did have a driveshaft failure, that possibly caused by the impact with the generator.

Yeah, they said that if something is broken on the grid, they can replace it so long as they show Charlie Whatshisface that there was indeed damage. I saw during prerace a McLaren crewman running down the pits with a piece of bargeboard, and another carrying a front wing.

They reported that he got over 2 feet in the air, which would support the fact it (the driveshaft) may have been damaged by the impact of hitting the ground.

My question is, how/why did he run it over? Usually the teams seem good about keeping their equipment fairly close to the car and not leaving it out in the road.

Well considering the fact that JPM missed the Red light in Canada and and ran over a generator.

My conclusion???? JPM is blind as a bat. :D

They need to take away his driving license and his F1 super license before he hurts someone.

The only reason you dont want JPM in F1 is he fact that he can do damage to Ferrari by either beating them or crashing them out. So JPM drives with his head disconnected... He is the class clown of F1. I personaly don't care for JPM either but it is fut watching his stupidity or hearing his stupid remarks.

He is funny for sure. Last week his qualifying comments are that he is a born racer, all he knows how to do is go for first (hence the spin). This week his comments are, I made a turn 1 mistake so I just tried to put in a decent lap.
    Just a little contradictory...

I don't like him much at all, but at least he has personality.

The announcers on speed channel were just praising him all race. They say he is the most under rated driver.

I DO have to agree that he has shown some great speed lately ... and infact really is pushing Kimi.

Montoya probably would have won that race ... and he was on rails at Silverstone. The guy is fncken fast and with Ron Dennis coaching him ... well he might make a full package yet.
