Anybody see this live and can say what happen? I just happen to catch a picture of it.
Ryan Newman sent him into the wall and the fuel cell was compromised. Homeboy did a good job of getting out of the car quickly. Postrace, the 12 team was called to the NASCAR headmaster for a ruler across the knuckles.
I was there. The final opinion stated on NASCAR radio was that there was no contact between cars. So far, Newman has not been fined. Newman's car "stole the air" from JPM's car, causing it to lose control. JPM did not lose control on his own, this kind of side to side drafting is a lesson JPM must learn to survive on the superspeedways.. If Newman gets fined, then the radio report was wrong.
Newman acknowledge today that he believes his car did hit Montoya, causing JPM's fiery accident. He stated it was not intentional, he lost grip and slid into him.
