I just returned from 11 days in Italy where among other things, I saw Montrealer Emmanuel Anassis, (360 Challenge #211) clinch the North American Championship at Mugello last week. In a close fought contest he beat out Doug Peterson by a single point to retain his title. When not racing his Challenge car, Emmanuel is an advanced driving instructor for the local Porsche Club, Rennsport Region PCA.

He currently races for Shelton Ferrari of Florida after a falling out with FoQ. The championship was decided at Ferrari Speed week at Mugello about 40 Km from Florence. The event also featured a demo of the 2005 F1 cars driven by Schumi and Rubino. It was a farewell party for Rubens and his fans.

Other highlights included laps by 57 *yes* fifty seven Enzos who gathered from all over Europe. Four of the new FXX cars were lapping as well and proved to be extraordinairily quick. The 430 Challenge car was also present and we now know why they have air jacks. The Challenge races were 50 minutes long and featured a mandatory pit stop. The weather was rain and cloud making tire changes mandatory as the track dried out. It was a great celebration and I thank Ferrari North America for the hospitality they showed us.

    Rgds,

About pics, yup I have some. Gotta download them from the camera. You can also see a zillion pics on Bruce Miller's web site - see his post on Racing forum. I'm in some of them to my surprise.

In Rennsport, Emmanuel drove a GT3. now drives a red GT2 he bought from me. Occasionally drives his Challenge car at Tremblant as well although the car spends more time in the US for the races there.

Bernardo - you are quite right. As a result of his moving to Shelton, Shelton won the dealer award since Shelton drivers accumulated more points than any other in the series. Still it's too bad that FoQ lost the champ.

    Regards,
