Hello everyone, I'm doing an essay on the cancellation of the Montreal Grand Prix and am hoping to get some help from the members of FerrariChat. If you have any links with information, stats, comments, discussion, or ANYTHING please post it!!! I have found a fair bit of course but there is always more out there. I will be covering the racing heritage of Montreal, The economic boost it provides to the city and the social impact it has on the city, teams, drivers and public. I hope this is in the right section and hope that some will be able to help me out!
Definitely the right section, but you may want to provide some more specifics as to what you're looking for. I've been to the race many times and could bore you all night long with my stories...
My apologies! I am looking for articles or stats in this general area : - Total Revenue's (approx 80million) - Total Attendance (on race day and all weekend) - Total viewers (approx 300million) - Interviews - Drivers reactions - Team reactions - Sponsor reactions - Public reaction - Economic numbers (revenue, sales, anything economic related) I'm looking for information like that. I have found some good articles on cbc.ca ad some other websites. I know this website has plenty of knowledge and I got many links from when I scrolled through the previous Montreal discussion threads. Personal statements can also be used so if you have something that you believe feel free to say it. One aspect I am focusing on is the Social Affects it has to the public. I could easily include some posts with the proper sourcing!
There are some great articles on Autosport.com that would be a good reference. Here's a couple to get you started: http://www.autosport.com/news/grapevine.php/id/68173 http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/68234 Hope this helps, and good luck with your paper!
I would think the city of Montreal itself could provide some pretty useful information for you. Check into their Chamber of Commerce, Bureau of Tourism and also see if there are general economic figures available. I don't have any specific links, but based on all the talks going on, it would seem they'd be pretty open with the numbers right now.
