I can't find anything on any websites - is this going to be a SpeedTV race or CBS? If the latter, what will the broadcast time (Pacific) be? Thanks.
I agree...when a certain car (non contender at the time) went off track Gumble refused to shut up and let the "real" announcer state what happened. Horrible announcing. The next race they will screw up is the German GP. Very happy with the results today!!!
Me too - just have to catch it when it's posted on formula1.com They didn't even have enough air time to show Rubens getting his trophy. Carol
The coverage was delayed a few minutes I had the streaming on my computer while watching the CBS coverage
TSN (The Sports Network) covered it here in Canada - pretty good commentary without too much bias given to JV and given the channel is disgustingly hockey oriented
I get tired of CBS' coverage, the way they treat every race as if it were the first ever telecast of a Formula 1 race. I like Derek Daly, but did anyone catch how he made a point about the #1 driver's in-car camera is painted red, and moments later misnamed the drivers when Alonso and Raikkonen pitted--with clear shots of their RED camera mounts?! I mean, shut up for just one minute and let us enjoy the race.
CBS coverage sucks!!! No press conference and they cut to commercial at the oddest times. WTF??!! At least the race was awesome. It would have been much better with commentary from the Speed guys!
That got beeped out on my reception. There must be a few second's delay on the broadcast. He went to "screwed" after that
The commentating is horrible. Daly is not a good commentator - as always, he picked a situation (this time Montoya, last time Webber) and dramatically blew it out of proportion. I thought the "NASCAR vs. F1" table was laughable. And "Can you explain for our viewers at home Derek what the difference between hard and soft tires is?". L A M E. God, what I wouldn't give for Matchett and Hobbs.
All of the above plus ( I know catching is one thing, passing another) MY LOCAL STATION WIBW on the last lap when Michael was catching Kimi. BROKE FOR WEATHER UPDATE ( nothing serious, immanent) they came back to see 4rth place finish.
The commentating was FAR worse this time than their previous attempt. Daly near hysterics at the end of the race and Ralph Shaheen knows as much about F1 as he does about nuclear physics. What a twit. AWFUL, really awful.
Utterly pathetic. 47 minutes of commercials in a two hour broadcast, numerous mistakes by Daly and Shaheen, neither of whom could commentate their way out of a paper bag, and they didn't even bother with the post race press conference. Then again, that's what you ought to expect when you let a high schooler take over F1 broadcasts for the US.
Did anybody else notice the fixation on Toyota (and some Williams) that CBS had early on? After about the 4th lap we had all-Toyota all the time, even though it was a low-intensity 6th place battle. Watch every camera pan and follow for the next 20 laps and it will be on a Toyota. CBS missed a lot of the race between that and the 10 minutes yakking about Scott Speed. And please, can Vesicare make at least one more commercial to show every 5 minutes for every CBS race.
