I LOVE MONTREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell everyone it's the Paris of North America and people seem mystified by it. I go to Montreal almost monthly and talk to locals there who're shop owners up and down St. Catherine to get to know the local economy there. The word was that real estate values were behind Toronto. Is this true? Also how big is the scene in montreal concerning Lambos & Ferrari's. Need some input.

    Thanks

Hey David, Thanks for giving it up for our city! I dunno if you remember me but we've met. I was the Valet working on St. Laurent for the F1 weekend and you gave me the Georgetown Private Cliente video CD my boss let you park the 360 with the others. It is true about the real estates value in montreal and we've got plenty 360's but not much else. Its rare to see a lambo around here. Anyways have a great time next time u come up.

Property values are behind Toronto, and that suits most of us fine because it still makes home-ownership in Montreal accessible. Although values are climbing, you can expect a dip (or market adjustment) within the next 2 years. None-the-less, good rental appartments are hard to come by, office space is at a premium, and residential homes are sold even before they are built.

The latin temperment of the locals, and strong European immigrant population gives Montreal that feeling of being in a European city. And although the urban layout of Old-Montreal is very Parisian, the rest of the city is based on a more North American urban setting.

As for the Ferrari's and Lambo's....they're out there somewhere. But our crappy roads, sh*tty drivers, hard winters and overall whimpy owners (with the exception of Tony-512TR and myself) who would rather make garage queens out of their cars than actually use them, makes it such that these cars never see much asphalt.

Its funny, but I couldn't have gotten out of Montreal fast enough. I do miss my family and friends there and it is a beautiful city, yes, especially in the fall, but there's alot of stuff I don't miss...

Wasn't it 1981 or 1982 when we got snow IN JUNE (flurries at least). It took 10 years of living in the southern USA for the permafrost to leave my bones.

Thanks for the comments. Glad you like it.
