So, this thread has probably been done before, but let's see fresh pics. I'll start with mine, even though it is not what people consider to be the nicest or coolest Ferrari to own, but it suits my 3 criterias. 4 Seater for the Kids Convertible & It's a Ferrari. (it's also about the only one I could afford at this moment.) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heres a picture of my friends ferrari which i got a ride in today. Wow the V12 engine sounds beautiful.
Hey JS. Just to let you know, you're not going to find many Montreal owners on this board apart from you, 512TR (Tony) and myself. As I mentioned on another thread, I've decided to keep the plates on my car during this winter, so winter storage is not an issue for me this year. No...I won't drive it through the slush and ice, but good driving weather can still be had in November and December....and occasionally in January. Also, on Luigi's advice, given that I've got carbs, I should start it on a monthly basis. However, simply letting it idle doesn't cut it for me, so on the dry cool days, I may just take it for a quick spin. In closing, here's my pictorial contribution to this thread. The pics were taken on the way to, and at the Ferrari Festival at Mont Tremblant. The black 512TR is Tony's and the red 308...well, it's mine. JScar, Wow your Mondial looks great!!! With the 360 wheels ,the car looks really modern. By the way, its the first time I see you posting on the site. I am from Montreal, but I don`t have a Ferrari.
Beautiful 308, i beleive ive seen it around town before, but it might have been some1 else since many peolpe own red 308's in Montreal. And tony's TR is awsome, looks so sweet.
So Luigi is still around? How's he doing? Years and years ago when I was a kid and still in Montreal, I'd go and visit him and ask to look around in his showroom. He always took the time to answer my questions and allowed me to drool on his cars. The last time my parents were in Montreal (two or three years ago) on a visit, I asked them to stop by and see if he was there, he was and they spoke with him and they told him I finally got a Ferrari... He was nearly in tears of joy! I hope to make it back there for a visit and bring my GT4 to show him! JS, do not down-play your Mondial, what we, who have 2+2 Ferraris, have the best of both worlds; comfort/practicality and the Ferrari performance and most of all, the engine sound! That's a beautiful Cabriolet you have and the 360 wheels suit it very nicely. Any fitment issues with them in the Mondial wheelwells (clearance, wheel rim offset compatibilty, etc...)?
That is to bad to hear about only 2 Ferrari owners on this board. Well it's officially 3 now. Those are 2 beutiful cars. Always loved the 308, and testarossa, unfortunatly with 2 kids under 4 and new house to pay, the mondial is all I could afford at this time. (Damn Priorities)!! By the way I'm also keeping mine open until December or the first big snow fall. Drove it every day this week.
Thanks for the compliments. I've joined the site in July after my bud in San Francisco showed it to me. He's got this sweet 348 Special Edition. (it must be nice to have money...) I have posted several threads in the last couple of months, but it's the first time ina regional one.
The wheels fit "Like a glove" no rubbing, offset problems, etc... I did have to buy longer Lugnuts, (the ones from a 360) These wheels completly enhanced the driving experience both in handling and looks. The best investment yet (aside from actually getting the thing to run like a Ferrari, the guy I bought it off really abandoned it). Next job is slapping on a tubi or stebro exhaust. That will cap off the work I want done on the car. Then it's sheer driving pleasure.
Peter: Yes, Luigi is still around and kicking. His new shop is absolutely gorgeous. I am a little envious of his reaction towards your Ferrari purchase. When I announced to him my purchase, he blasted me for an hour and then attacked both my wife and I on a personal level. Keep in mind that this was right when he was forced to move from his location on Vanden-Abeele, so obviously he was not in the best of spirits. Nonetheless, he's made amends with me since then. JS: We could be 4 owners on the site if JohnT would hurry up, finish his studies and get around to owning one instead of going to FoQ for his weekly tease!! LOL!! Like Eric said, don't downplay Mondial ownership. A Ferrari by any other model is still a Ferrari. Keep in mind that there are roughly 200 Ferrari's registered in Quebec, and consequently we should all consider ourselves lucky to belong to such an exclusive club...no matter what model you own. BTW, I hope that you've kept the original wheels from your car, or any other original part(s) that you've replaced or upgraded. It will come in handy when (or if) you decide to sell your car. Cars that are close to stock, tend to be easier to sell. That said...turn up the heat and enjoy the ride. Eric: Snowbirds are welcome!! I sense from some of your posts that you still have a soft spot for "notre ville." Didn't you once say that you're never an ex-Montrealer? BTW folks, you should all check out Eric's site: www.velocetoday.com. A really nice buffet for the Italian Car lover.
All original equipment is in Garage, wheels , exhaust headers, and anything else I intent to change. Check out my new post, I'm debating whether or not to place fender sheilds on the car. The ones I have now are magnetic, just so I can decide whether or not to buy the real ones.
LOL As we are speaking, I am nowhere near to buy a Ferrari. I can still dream of owning one. Thats why I go to FoQ.
I still have a soft spot, but not enough drive to move back. At least, not for now. Still, its a great town and I have fun everytime I'm there. You're right, I did say you never become an "ex", but I wanted to make sure there were no bad feelings towards the snowbirds. Then again, its not like I live in upstate New York and cross the border for free medical care...
Bernie, may you please provide the address of his new shop? I wasn't aware that he moved. What was the reason why? Please send to: [email protected] Thanks...
He moved because the dude next door needed to "expand" his shop....(theres more to it but who needs to get into boring details...) His new address is: 7800 Henri Bourassa West, St-Laurent I love his new shop clean, simple and "homely"
I decided to take mine out this afternoon, during a break in the lousy weather that we've been having lately. Hopefully we should get a few nice driving days before January.
And drive it I shall!!! However, logic dictates that I exercise some common sense during a snow storm, or when the streets are full of slush, ice and salt.
I drove mine yesterday, it was beautiful, and made it home before the rain. I am actually driving it again today. I am not storing it, until I see that first snowflake.
