I’ve got tickets to Monza this year, I’ve seen the announcement that the race is preparing to be run with no spectators, but it appears they won’t make the final decision on spectators until???

We tied the race into our Switzerland vacation, which we’re also uncertain will happen.

If you have updates on the Monza race, or Switzerland travel, please post them.

    Thanks in advance.

Same situation for me (living in Germany, however, I am probably more flexible to plan on short notice...). At least for travelers from the EU, borders to Switzerland and Italy are partly open now or will be opened latest mid of June. Visitors from Asia also don't get any EU visa right now, at least that's what we have been told by the embassy in Bangkok when asking about a friend who wants to visit us in August. However no idea about rules for US citizens...
I have also read in the news that all European races would be without spectators, but haven't found any official statement by the organizers (Monza race track) or F1. The organizers have put ticket sales "on hold until further notifications by the authorities", according to their website. I think they don't want to close the door yet (maybe some tough negotiations behind closed doors). But would consider it rather unlikely to happen.

    Thomas,

Thanks very much for your response. Our plan is to see what the prognosis/news is on July 15th with regard to our Switzerland trip.

Fingers crossed that we will be in Monza for the race, but not overly optimistic.

The border between Italy and Switzerland is only partially open (or partially closed). There is a Swiss directive that says the border will be full open again on June 15, depending how is the coronavirus situation. Since numbers seem to be OK, I think it will go ahead.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE
to Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia 2020 ticket holders
Dear customers, on June 4th ACI has entered into an important agreement with Formula 1, as a result of which the race of Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia at Autodromo Nazionale Monza is confirmed on 6th September 2020; at the moment, the current health emergency, however, does not allow us to grant that this edition of Formula 1 Gran Premio d’Italia can take place with audience admittance; if competent authorities provisions permit, we will shortly consider, together with F1, the possibility of allowing a limited audience admittance, also taking all necessary health safety standard. We will let you know as quickly as possible, throughout the website Monzanet.it, the decisions will be taken in this regard

I won't count on that. Italian politicians are the most disorganized there are.

We already canceled our trip to the UK. No GP and no two weeks in Polzeath. 2020 pretty much stinks so far.

The way Ferrari is performing, it's best no fans show up at Monza.

5 more races to go until Monza.

Binotto may be fixed about his future before that, or at least the speculations won't stop.

The way the US is going I can’t see EU countries reducing their quarantine requirements anytime soon. (Switzerland is 10 days quarantine; and I bet they do it properly like Aus)

So unlikely I’d guess you could have a decent holiday; unless you include and like 10 days confined to your hotel room!
