With less than four minutes remaining in the first practice, Ferrari is sitting 1-2. It's Kimi .144 ahead of Felipe who is followed by Hamilton back .172 then Alonso back .692 and it's good to see Nico in fifth at 1.026.

Session ended with above results remaining the same.

Good showing for the Tifosi at Monza.

always nice to hand out the first punch, but as always, the very first practice doesn´t mean all that much. I can only hope that Ferrari will bring the Tifosi a thundering victory and a little less thundering second place. Kimi/Massa or Massa/Kimi doesn´t matter all that much given the current standings.

Good morning Steve - you're welcome. I got up just in time for the final closing minutes of practice. Second practice is in several hours. Have a great day. You'll have to carry on next weekend as John and I are headed to Spa next Friday for the race. If we didn't already have the F1 tickets since last December, we might have seriously considered being at Silverstone for the LMS 1000 km race there. . . (good luck Team Modena)

    Have a great day.

that may be the problem , they could cut into each others chase for points to LH . can someone work out if LH finishes every race remaining in 3rd place , will he still win the WDC ?

i am too tired to work it out .

There are too many circumstances to really cover, but if LH finishes every race in 3rd, he could be passed by either KR or Phil. It would be close, so either KR or Massa would have to finish with consistent P1. Either driver pretty much needs to win at least 3 of the next 5, and get second place for the other two. It's going to be tough, but we can hope that FA can be useful to the Tifosi for once.

    I MAY BE WRONG it's 5:00 AM

Hamilton finishes 3rd in every race he will get 114 points

Kimi wins the next 5 = 118 points
Massa wins the next 5 = 119 points

For the rest I will assume Ferrari always finishes 1-2

Kimi wins the next 4 of the five races = 116
    ...next 3... = 114
    ...next 2... = 112
    ...next 1... = 110
    ...no wins... = 108

Massa wins the next 4 of the five races = 117
    ...next 3... = 115
    ...next 2... = 113
    ...next 1... = 111
    ...no wins... = 109

EDIT: Formula for guaranteed success = 5 Ferrari 1-2 finishes. How hard can it be?

Good morning everyone. It's nice to see Ferrari 1-2 in the first practice, but I must say, it's a little odd to not be hearing Hobb's voice during Practice 2. I wish him well.

Who cares? Next Thursday we'll get the championship on a silver platter. Alonso and Hamilton can pack their bags.

The new meeting of the FIA commission deciding about the espionage case.

To give you an idea on how serious the FIA takes this: They cancelled the other meeting and threw Ferrari's appeal out, because this new hearing will be ground breaking. While we were all disappointed in the results of the first verdict, we have to give it to the FIA, that they left the door open by saying "unless more evidence appears". I can only imagine what sleepless nights that must have caused Ron Dennis. But now that the cat is out of the bag, he might just look at retiring. :)
