I know there have been previous threads, but I couldn't find them in a search sadly.

So it looks like I'll be going to Monza this year for the first time. I've been to Milan and the area a bit before but never during the race weekend. We're eyeing up accommodations near Milano Garibaldi station.

What I'm wondering about is what is the transportation situation like to the track from Milan? Is there a train or bus setup? Any other suggestions with regard to the race attending logistics?

And a slightly tongue in cheek question: Will I get lynched if I wear Caterham green? ;)

I have been to the Italian GP many times and frankly the set up is superb, it is very easy to stay in Central Milan where you will find a greater choice of hotels and restaurants than Monza.
Throughout the race weekend there is a free regular train service before and after the event running from the Milan Central station ( there is an excellent Hilton Hotel very close by and in easy walking distance to the central tourist area Duomo etc) the whole thing is very easy and clearly signed.

The food and toilet facilities at the circuit are again both excellent.

In my oppinion this GP is perhaps one of the best on the calendar the atmosphere and organisation is first class.

Everyone is very friendly and there with a common interest, obviously red is the prevalent colour, green you should be fine - mercedes silver well by September that might be a different story!! Only joking you will be fine.

Enjoy the GP you won't be disappointed, who knows we may bump into each other.

I was in the middle of Milan town square where the church was for brunch, then drove out to the track about 20mins. The drive and traffic wasn't bad at all, since I live in LA, everywhere else is not as bad lol. I did have to park far from the track, but there's a courtesy shuttle you into the park. Then there's the walking, man it was far from drop off point all the way in, bring your walking shoes.
